Windows (Code 43) Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)

Hi Guys, so... Yesterday i was play Rocksmith 2014 and it was like a normal day of playing it really nothing went wrong, working smoothly. So i wanted to go on Rocksmith 2014 just now and for some odd reason, just out of the blue, i had a windows message saying: "USB Device Not Recognised" so i went into Device Manager and i found the USB Device and i clicked Properties and it said this:

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

A request for the USB device descriptor failed.

Now i have looked online everywhere and i just can't seem to find any solution for this. As a real guitar fan, i love playing the guitar and learning songs but now i can't do that because of this stupid problem.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I would first suggest to reseat the break away on the cable... If it happened while playing you might have pulled on it a little.. The break away is the round tube close to the USB connection.

Then go back into Device manager, uninstall the RT cable, and then scan for changes... That should get it to reinstall the driver.

Thanks for the help caldaar, i just tried plugging it in now and for some odd reason now it works again 0_o i litterally just grabbed the cable and just went "this probably wont work" but i just tried it after doing nothing to the cable and now its working again. o_0

i dont know what happened with the cable but it works now after doing nothing to it..? Strange...

I had an issue like this with my cable. I pushed the break away together and then applied a little electrical tape to hold it together. Never had the problem again.
