Certain chords not registering?
Hi I'm playing rocksmith at the moment and on this one song which always contains this one chord pattern(Cb5,Db5) the chord is not registering AT ALL. I have my hand position absolutely perfect and even slowed down it does not work. Any advice?

Keep trying.

I could just be technique. Make sure you are fretting the chords cleanly. Pause the song and try the chords. Try playing each note to be sure they ring out.

Also it could be timing. Especially if the song is not fully leveled, I find it hard to get the timing right on some sections. So I level up the song to see all the notes/chords. That usually lets me get the timing down better.

It could be your tuning. Make sure it is spot on with the precision tuner not just the quick check.

Keep trying.

Found out that if I turn a certain handle on my guitar near the controls it works. Anyone suggest a reason why this is?

I did that and even when it was perfect it would not work, but for some reason it is now fine when I change a setting on the guitar itself.

What?

Do you mean your volume/tone knobs or your pickup selection switch?

Both will help. Just put all the control knobs on 10. That will give you the strongest signal.

Make sure the pickup selector switch in on the bridge pickup. You can tap on the pickups with your pick to see which is selected. Generally Lead/Treble will be the bridge pickup. Rocksmith seems to like the bridge pickups the best, as they usually have the strongest signal.

And, yes, have a strong signal will help with note detection.

So what is the fingering on these? I'm guessing Cflat5 (really just B5) is 2nd fret on 5th string and 4th fret on 4th and maybe 3rd strings. Same for Dflat5 but on 4th and 6th strings? Or are the chord voicings somewhere else like 7th fret and 9th fret on the 6th string?

Does Rocksmith show you that you are off pitch by showing arrows indicating you are off fret, or does it just not register at all? Is this official DLC, I have a custom that I think is done wrong and it won't register the chords right.

I have all the knobs on 10 but there is a certain handle on the guitar itself, I do not know what it's called but I suppose it changes how clean it is. If I turn it the other way it registers.

You can see if the chord registers when you play it in the list of chords for each song. Sometimes in fast chord changes, the harmonics from the last notes played are still picked up.

I assume you mean a pickup switch. Is it something like this? http://www.mattnotley.co.uk/guitar/2011/08/using-the-pickup-selector-switch/

If that's the case then one of your pickups is broken or disconnected.

I would not assume that anything is broken. My guess is that you selected the pickup near the bridge and now its working. RS detects notes better from the bridge pickup.

I have no idea what "handle" you are talking about?

I would assume that you are very new to playing guitar ... and for whatever reason unwilling to use google to learn about your guitar.

That means any of these issues you are having are almost assuredly your technique, tuning, and/or setup.

You can get your setup checked at a shop. I would say it is easy, but not for someone with a "handle" on their guitar it will not be.

You need to practice tuning and get it spot on. A setup will help this along with properly stretched strings, but again probably beyond your ability so go see a tech.

Finally, there is your technique ... and your ability to use google to learn about your guitar ... you need to spend a lot of time on these things.
