Audio Output Device Not Detected
Started getting this error when opening Rocksmith today. Audio works perfectly fine with everything else on my PC. Worked perfectly fine the last time I played Rocksmith. Tried restarting the game, restarting the PC, even reinstalled the game but nothing works. I've checked possible fixes but they don't work either. Anyone else get this problem?

If something happens like that, it's mostly from something else interfering... Perhaps adding new stuff or an update of some sort. Have you also checked the windows sound settings?

One simple thing that's caught me out in the past; is the connector on the Realtone™ cable pushed together securely? A few times it's pulled apart on me just a little bit and it's been enough to banjax the connection without me seeing it.

Indeed, you can use a normal cable in between with adapter, so you can leave the RT cable without strain and such. Works good for me.

I've just solved this for my PC. As others have noted, the sound device you're playing through needs to be set to 16bit 48khz and all other playback devices should be disabled in the windows sound settings. For me this wasnt enough - I also had to physically disconnect a USB audio interface, even though it was disabled in windows. Working fine now using onboard sound.

Yes! I keep mine plugged into a mixer out / cab sim jack on my Bad Monkey overdrive. I connect the guitar to the Monkey with a cheap Ammoon wireless connector or else I use a regular cable from the guitar and use the Monkey's other amp output to connect wirelessly to my amp. Monkey makes a great splitter ...good Monkey! 🐒

Yes I use an new external soundcard which doesn't support 16bit 44100Hz sound
Rocksmith only recognizes 16bit 44100Hz devices
