Makes me wonder, I guess you should be able to convert this on the fly and create a virtual device for rocksmith that should work. I just have right now no idea how and I am a little bit worried over extra latency... the amp simulation is not that bad either, so my real tone cables do an pretty ok job anyway.
Yeah, I've tried CD and DVD quality. Neither work. I legitimately don't get it. I have a ton of other recording software and VSTs that were no hassle to set up.
I've worked with open-source software and bent it to work to my needs withess struggle than this thing.
How can a company as big as Ubisoft release a game as absolutely broken as this? I honestly don't get it... Like, the stupid cord is so unnecessary but I get it, DRM etc. But why not have it output to the default system audio choice? The software doesn't automatically synchronize the screen and audio. There's a whole plethora of other audio games that work no problem at all...
For the price of the game + the dongle, I expected it to work without any major hassle. This is just ridiculous.
I first thought so too, but than I realized that this stupid usb-interface is there to reduce support to just that single piece of stupid cord and not deal with any other interfaces, etc
Even the new one coming out this year, brings finally native asio support (the thing you want) but explicit declines support for anything but their own stupid little cable.
Though to be honest, the cable itself is pretty ok, even when a little overpriced. It's not like the audio quality with it would be bad … it's just that I would prefer to use my amp sometimes over their tone simulation, even when their amp simulation is pretty good.
Anyway, oblitorigy question: When you try to use your interface, did you install the RS_Asio mod first as RS14 does not nativily support your interface? And did the setup for it too?
The "built-in" sound I don't even think is enabled, and even if it is I don't have speakers for it. I use studio monitors plugged into a Steinberg CI-1. The only other option I have is a Soundblaster Audigy 2 (I have the Platinum Pro version, it's still going strong in W10 with some custom drivers).
I'll check out the guide and see what it recommends
Which is fair I suppose for casual users that may not have proper audio interfaces... But that aside, my installation of the game refuses to see the official cable, even.
TBH I had no idea there was a new Rocksmith game coming out. Hopefully it works better than this one... I've got over 2 hours clocked on this one and it's literally all just me poking a dead horse with a stick in hopes that it moves lol.
No, not yet. I kinda took a break from the output for a bit to see if I could even just get the input going... I'd be happy even just it to do *something*
So, use onboard sound. Set it to 16bit 48khz. Disable in the Windows Sound settings anything other that the sound output you are using for Rocksmith AND unplug any external audio interfaces.
Hope that works for you!
Still the most basic trouble shooting seems to have worked, so that is at least something.
You might try it the other way around too, with disabling your onboard sound entirely and setting up RS_Asio with your interface instead. (still dvd quality settings, etc).

In fact can we for once, get an official statement on why there are so many problems with this game and no corrective action taken?
Hello Katanshin,
Sorry to hear you've had a negative experience with Rocksmith 2014.
At this moment, core development for Rocksmith 2014 Remastered has concluded, so there are no future major updates planned and therefor we can offer no guarantee of any patches.
That said, we do still offer support to players with issues and the starting point for many performance issues are the steps we offer which have been known to be the solution in some instances.
Of course, this isn't always the case and is why we always welcome players to get in touch directly with us so we can gather further information on your setup to be able to provide more tailored support and hopefully get the issue eventually resolved.
In cases we cannot resolve an issue, the detailed steps and information we'd have collected until that point are passed onto the relevant teams to see if action can be taken, however with many legacy titles, as noted above given the situation regarding their development, we can't guarantee a patch or immediate fix every time.
If you are having issues with Rocksmith yourself, you're more than welcome to let us know of contact us directly if you haven't yet already and we will be more than happy to assist.
Thank you.

I managed to fix my issue and have been helping others do so on other threads. Where should I send the invoice?
It is great to hear that you fixed the issue you were having and have shared your experience to help others.
Thank you for your feedback regarding the support you have received also.
If ever we can help in the future just let us know.

You apparently did not read my posts. Fairly obviously, because I should not have to fix anything, there is no 'fault' on my side, I am not doing anything 'improper' which is precisely why people who encounter these problems struggle so much to determine the cause. And for your reference my background is computer science, a doctorate, and a decade of experience. So yes, I tried to help their support, and yes, I did things the right way. I wouldn't be so angry or dismissive of their efforts had they been anything close to what I expected professionally or instead of having people download dxdiag records and turn of 2nd monitors, actually enacted troubleshooting steps relevant to the symptoms or leveraging community offered solutions. They have since literally said there's no budget interest or intent to patch the game, and so considering others will have a similar setup to mine and purchase the game, I consider them to be selling a faulty product.
Yes, I understand capitalism too, thanks. Some companies manage to at least affect an air of caring and competence.
