RS2014 Lockup on new laptop

Hi Everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue. I recently un-installed Rocksmith off one laptop (work laptop) and installed it on my wife's laptop. Its a newer, laptop but it runs windows 8 and not windows 7 like my previous machine.

Anyway, its not ideal. The graphics have some delay which I would like to address, but the worst part is on a number of songs (so far songs I've downloaded that don't have difficulty levels), I get to the tuning screen, tune my guitar and then it shows me the screen with the amps and locks up. I can play, i hear the amps play what I'm playing but I can't escape out and I can't play the song. It seems to be in some sort of loop.

Any ideas on how to address this?

You may just be unlucky. It sounds like you are talking about customs. If there is an error in the custom this can happen. You should see if there is a newer fixed version of the custom. You can probably find more info about this over on the custom site you got your songs from.

These are customs. That is true. But they also worked on my other laptop previously. So it sounded like they were ok.

Tried a 3rd custome DLC that worked on my previous laptop. It also crapped out on me. This one had difficulty leveling so its not that. I tune the guitar, the tuner goes away, I see the speakers, I hear my guitar but nothing ever starts. I have to ctrl+tab to the task manager and kill the process.

I assume you remembered to add the extra DLL for customs to work?

{sigh}.... I did not. Added it. And all of a sudden like magic stuff started working. Thank you everyone!
