Is there a bundle/deal to get all the DLC for Rockmith 2014?
I'm trying to figure out the most economic way to get all the DLC for this game, is there a package deal to get it all or do you have to buy seperate bundles for band/genres?

Does the original rocksmith have a different set list than the 2014 edition? I was reading something about people wanting to import songs from the original to the 2014 edition, but didn't know if the 2014 was like a remastered version and had all the same content.

Any clarity would be appreciated. I got the original version when it came out on PS3 (don't have it anymore) and I've been playing guitar and bass since I was 13 (almost 15 years now......wow, time flys), so I'm familiar with the game and kinda know what I'm getting into. Smashing Pumpkins songs are on the top of the list, STP is up there too.....SO MANY GOOD SONGS, how do I get em all?!?! lol

Also I just got my first dreadnaught and is currently the only guitar I have (gonna buy my 7-string back from someone after I get this game).....anyone played this game on an acoustic?

it goes on sale quite frequently for 25 - 40% off

Does the sale include DLC? I just looked @ the store page and all the DLC was like $2500, would def get a new guitar or computer instead I think lol.

Yes DLC also go on sale. Most were 40% off last sale except a bunch of the more recent releases.

I think its more economical to buy 1-3 songs that you'll be working on. Then to buy more when you can play them.

Buying all the DLC in one go would be crazy. For a start, organising it within Rocksmith might be difficult, and are you definitely going to play it all?

I bought a bit of DLC during the last sale, and still haven't played it all yet. The latest DLC does not tend to be included but plenty of the old stuff is.

The songs on RS1 are different. Most people wait for sales and then they buy the game and the import tool (and then write a post complaining about how it just doesn't make any sense and corporate greed and blah blah blah). It's the cheapest way to get a ton of songs at once.

Besides that, wait until the sales for DLC if you want to buy a lot of them.

Not definately, a lot of the songs in this game I've seen I've already taught myself how to play and many more I've learned parts or sections of.

If it wasn't so expensive I'd get em all in one shot. Except for a few songs I'm not too familiar with, there is A LOT of songs I'd like to brush up on and maybe learn parts that I didn't have down completely.....so a lot of content isn't (for me) worth the full price. From what I've read though, there are some songs that the RS developers didn't transcribe correctly (most notably Tomorrow by Silverchair), so I'm trying to keep that in mind with some of the metal songs by like All That Remains and other stuff. I'm gonna focus on metal and alt-rock songs, since those are my favorite styles to listen to and play. I just didn't know if there was some REALISTICALLY affordable way to get the game in its entirety, but seems like this is a game library built over time, especially if the best way to do it is too wait for the sales.

KEEP GAMING & LISTENING TO MUSIC!!!

Thanks for the replys!!!!!

700+ songs... learn one a week, equals 13 years. Cost per year is pretty reasonable.

And then start over on bass...

These posts are funny and very true. Fortunately I can learn a song a day....and many in an hour.....comes with having taught myself how to play for over half my life lol.

Crap. I doubt you can learn a song a day, much less an hour.

I've been working on some songs for years. LOL!

Yeah, I could play 'em in a few hours, but not by memory, and probably some cheating ... okay a lot of cheating in places. I wouldn't wanna get up on stage ... well okay I would want to .. but I'd suck.

Some really do take days or weeks to even get decent at.

I'd say on average, that 1 song a week is probably a good goal.

I hear ya man I do, trust me......but I'm not lying. Some of the solo's I doubt I could learn in an hour or a day, but I've played in bands and on stage before......and definately have had to learn new songs in day to play in front of people (sometimes filling in for friends bands). I've been playing guitar and bass A LONG TIME and music is my life, but those are not the only 2 instruments I know how to play (I am multi-instrumental). I know how to play and can just listen to a song and know how long its gonna take me to learn.....then learn songs using tablature online, which can take me a an hour or two, or a day or two. So having played this game before and knowing what it can do.....yes me learning a lot of songs in an hour (and then being able to play them WITHOUT ROCKSMITH) is within my skill set.

Check out some originals from one of my old bands....(not the greatest songs ever written, but you'll get the idea).....I played a six string bass on these tracks and play metal on 6 and 7 string guitars......

Sounds better through headset...unless you have a beast sound system.....

Those are decent tunes.

I do know it can be done ... once one knows the theory it is easy enough to recognize it.

There are few I've met who can do it.

I am not one.

I don't know any theory, I play by ear and by feel.....but am definately at a point in my playing where learning my keys is becoming more and more important when playing with other people. And don't sell yourself short......took me half my life to get to this point.

You aren't one.....yet!

Great songs! Thanks for sharing. I like how the guitar(s) sounds like a real guitar and not like some overly compressed and produced POS. Voices are great and what you play on bass is just awesome, especially in the second song. Though the first one is more to my taste overall :) Old bands? Not in a band currently or nothing recorded yet?
