Real Tone Cable stopped working
I switched the cable over from my guitar to my bass and it instantly stopped working, I have since tried playing on my guitar again to no avail. The cable is shown in my recording settings, but it's getting absolutely no signal. I've reinstalled drivers and tried 3 different stringed instruments and every USB port on my computer along with a few PC restarts and uninstall/reinstalling drivers for the cable.

Anyone else have any idea what could have happened?

look in device manager (devmgmt.msc), does the cable have a bang (! in a triangle) next to it?

Does it work on another PC?

Have you tried disconnecting/reconnecting it from the breakaway?

I had an issue with the breakaway before so yes, I took it apart and reassembled it, and right now I'm trying on the PS4 (had it originally on PS4) and that's not getting any signal either, but it knows I have a cable plugged in. Very odd.

Lots of videos and sites on repairing cable. An ounce of prevention worth a pound of cure though. I treat my cables like their fragile since they kinda are.

I've been playing bass and guitar using the same mogami cable for 7 years and not had any issues, this Rocksmith cable is just over a year old... sigh.

Yeah it happens. I didn't mean any offense. Even treating them mildly as I try, I sometimes still have issues. Didn't mean that as a snotty comment. Anyway, I hope you're able to repair it and get back to rocking.

Oh no I didn't take you in any offense. I'm just kinda bummed.

Just talked to Ubi support they pretty much told me it would be $25 to get a replacement cable through them. Guess I'll have to fix it myself.

I have never had an issue . I have heard that the are vulnerable to static electricty.

Maybe that's what happened, guess I'm gonna have to dole out 30$ and maybe solder this new tip right from the start, haha.
