Does it work also with acoustic guitar?
Just wondering... can I play it with a simple acoustic guitar?

It's not really designed to work with an acoustic. Many of the songs need 22 frets and a electonic pickup. I have a acoustic with a pickup. It's kinda works just have to fiddle about a lot and don't expect to hit many of the bends in the songs unless you have olympic strength fingers.

But hey, give it a try if thats all you have. You do need to get the Rocksmith cable though.

Just to repeat for anyone else asking... YOU MUST HAVE THE RS CABLE to play the game.

Thank you very much. Actually I can use only my acoustic one, a Fender. I'll try to use it and see how the game will respond to it. Anyway I can read the game description and I'm already informed about the cable... and, I study music since I was 12, now I'm 25. Just bought the game to have some fun at home. Just saying, cause I read about many nerds trying to explain to musicians how the cable is important. Reality is that Ubisoft is selling a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cable for 30 euros just to make money on ignorant people.

If you have the realtone cable and an acoustic guitar with pickups, aka electric-acoustic, yes.

As brandon mentioned. Any electrical acoustic will work just fine. If you have just the George Strait guitar, or the Dethklok grandpa guitar, you can try this. I haven't done this myself so I can't say if it will work well or not.

Lastly, be careful about playing any classical guitar. Steve Vai often jumps out and challenges players to a guitar battle for their soul.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience. Anyone tried with a simple amplified acoustic guitar? I mean the one without pickups but with an amplification system?

I plug in my electric and then let it run through the song and just play along with my acoustic. You get the dude telling you "bad performance" all the time if you can handle the dejected voice that it is. Is there any way to turn him off.
