What are the differences between Rocksmit and Rocksmith® 2014 Edition - Remastered? I already have Rocksmith why should I buy this game too?

Remastered is the current version and the only one worth getting. The only reason to get the original is so you can buy the song import tool and import both games to Remastered.
If you're meaning RS+ i'll cover that below.

I started with RS+ and now play both RS2014 AND RS+

Rocksmith Plus
- RS+ feels more modern, the UI is (for me) easier to read, whilst also looking sleeker and cleaner. Some may prefer RS2014 because it has a more retro grungy look, I do not.

- The way your guitar is mixed with the game sounds better to me. My guitar comes through distinctly and sounds clearer than in RS2014. It's minor, but i notice. This is with RS cable, obviously an AMP sounds badass no matter what.

-On this subject, plug in and play with an ASIO, or AMP with an ASIO is built into RS+ where RS2014 requires some annoying downloading files and ini editing.

- The lessons are also handled much better, pretty much every technique and more has a lesson, with a good video, with a likable person and then a fun technical lesson that isn't too difficult but ensures you can utilise the technique.

- Not registry is tighter, meaning yeah, you may miss more notes, but it also means youre playing better. When i switch to RS2014 sometimes i'm aware im just butchering a barre chord, yet it lets it slide when RS+ would not.

- Subscription model. Good or bad, whatever i don't care, buy it or don't but you gotta sub to it if you want it. When you unsub you lose access.

RS2014/Remastered
- Better/More songs

-CDLC possibility allowing any community made chart for any song on the game (which whilst good is always at threat of daddy ubisoft)

- Once you bought it, its yours forever. There's a chance ubi could deactivate paid for content, it's digital so they can do what they like - but i doubt they would.

- VITAL: Songs are being delisted consistently, meaning they can't ever be bought again - and customforge won't allow delisted songs to be CDLC (community dlc). So, keep an eye out on the rocksmith reddit for songs being delisted, and if you like them - BUY THEM before they're gone. E.g. The strokes get delisted tomorrow!
Very good said. Using both too, so i can agree ;)

Avoid Rocksmith+ it's crap.

LOl, thats why so many people have problems with the current 2014 version right /s
( and no, its not just because ubi made an update, just that people mostly dont know how to update their mods, imagine a guy saying, yes i use cdlc, but what mod, i dont use mods :steamfacepalm:?????)

Honestly the only thing I care about WRT RS2014's UI, is I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ loathe the slooooow animated transitions from screen to screen that you can't skip or speed up in any way, and how buttons don't actually work for a second or so even after the transition to a new screen is complete.

Does RS+ do away with that nonsense?

Yeah, you click, it loads.
The only thing missing is song listening previews without clicking on the song.
And the search function/looking for songs is different. They try to make it more like spotify and give more advanced search options.

It's actually way worse. After playing a song in RS+ you have to wait for hours until they show you the mastery you got.

Not sure what you mean because it shows after the song and again if you exit the song. Maybe you have some songs with a longer outtro (but quiet) so it takes a bit longer

I've never noticed this an issue in either game tbf and the person asking was referring to other parts of the UI.

For example, when you click learn a new song, it isn't instant, it has a delay almost like a slide projector. However in RS+ when you click to look for songs, they're there, when you click a song, it opens, when you press play, it loads. No delay.

That's definitely good news about RS+. I play Rocksmith2014 2-4 hours a day, and the delays waiting for UI transitions get REALLY old :D

As I said, RS+ is worse. Some others posters don't seem to care; which is fine, but not what you asked.
Unskippable pointless animations from 4:00 to 4:10.

So according to you, only Ubisoft does that ? Hmmm, you have been misinformed or just very fixated on one. Most other companies do the same thing or even worse. Guess they don't count if you don't use those?

On the same planet, YES.

Pros of paper is it lasts for a very long time and is totally self contained. If you had that same piece of paper in 100 years it would likely still work just as well as it does today. Cons would be it only does one thing.

Get the idea? I'm pretty confident you understand.

Technology and technology based products become obsolete fairly quickly. Do you still use any software or computers you used in the 80s? I don't. In 100 years do you think any computers or software from today will still be used? I'm pretty sure people will have moved on. Even over the span of just 10-20 years a lot of technology becomes obsolete.

That is why I said paper has a longer lifespan.
To be fair... Virtual machines and emulation eventually take over when the actual hardware fails, if the product is popular enough.

When Rocksmith 2014 stops working (Don't expect it to work on win12, it has problems for a lot of people on win11 already) you'll still be able to use it by maintaining a Win7 or win8 virtual machine to play it in, but that is an extra hassle and something a lot of people don't know how to do and aren't technical enough to learn.
