Audio interface doesnt work!
Hi, i use my headphones with YAMAHA AG06 audio interface and, try as i might, the game keeps saying no audio output device recognized. Therefore I cant hear anything.
Other output devices work when I set them as default.

Need a solution
Much frustration
very thanks.

The game is originally not made for audio interfaces
The community has made some workarounds but it's still different for every device. So expect some computer savy trial and error.
Search the site Github for RS ASIO and Rsmods

oh man i tried that for a few hours yesterday... To no avail... :/ Im probably too lame to resolve it :( I also dont understand how its a problem, when no software, no PC has problem outputing audio trough the mixpult, yet this strange game has.

Close everything and make your audio interface the default sound device in windows settings then load steam and rocksmith, windows default dosent support multiple inputs well so it only works with input 1

when using rsasio.... you have to open the .ini file, and tell it what your audio interface driver is called, and what channel is the input. i dont remember off top of my head but that ini file says something like for example " audio dirver = " after after = you just write say, you have maudio interface "maudio interface" after the =. then itll say channel for player 1 and player 2, and you just put 1 ,or 2. it might be 0 and 1. sometimes, i have to mess with it when reinstalling and cannot remember, but this is how it goes off top of my head. i learned to do this from a youtube video that explained it, im sure you can find it... youtube, like, using RSASIO or using rocksmith with a interface, something like that. but, i explained it best i can. good luck

My two hours to refund is closing fast. This game just doesnt understand what my interface is trying to say.
One of the better solutions for having a audio interface in between is two mods, like RS Asio and RSMods. You can find these on the Github site. And a kind of instruction video in YouTube. The person uses a different interface, you need to replace names. And it might be there's a bit more tweaking necessary. Test and try. I used it for my Steinberg interface and it works great.

Important part
These mods are updated to work on the newer updated version of Rocksmith 2014, not on the backup version, which in time also will be removed.

The two mods
https://github.com/mdias/rs_asio#how-to-use
https://github.com/Lovrom8/RSMods/releases/latest

The instruction video
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gIp6IyPjGOY&t=26s

Hope that helps.

Out of the GitHub, first line of the release note :

RS ASIO 0.6.2

Add compatibility with both old and recently patched version of the game

Using the previous version is perfectly fine.

You're right, i dont use much that asio, since steinberg has the original. do people read the notes anyway, people just want it to work. But I had the RSmods and cdlc in mind, although i didnt mention that last one. Didnt want to push it :2014pick:

But still not much reason to do a refund, following that guide, isnt that difficult, theres always the cable (be it cheapo knockoff or og), if you want to play guitar. And there's a great community on discord that can help out.
I was wondering though why you didnt recommend that other (subbed) program instead.
Well I have a cable bought in 2014 still going strong. It's only fragile when you handle it wrong. I know others with even older cables. Next to that I used it on three different pc/laptop and also travelled with it. But as a tip. I have a adapter in between to connect another cable so that the RT cable is tucked away for less strain and wear and tear. (I learned that from somebody else here btw)
Next to that I have a Steinberg interface. They are the inventors of Asio, RS Asio was only doubling it. After testing I found a way to tweak Voicemeeter to get it right. But granted, it did take some time to get it right which is not for every one to do. And for most RS Asio works good aswell. You still need to be a bit computer savvy.
So luckily there's now more explanation. But it's for me now also easier to switch between interface or with RT cable. If people think the og RT cable is to expensive then an interface is surely more expensive. And lag is like finding difference between 120hz and 144. So I recently bought another RT cable for 20 euro, so I can use as extra also with my laptop when traveling. I also have a travel guitar with a mini amp.
And having different systems i can test different setups, to try to help out other people. (I just like to help other people)

Rocksmith is 29€, ToneLib is $69.95 whatever that is in euros. But there is still nearly 100% price increase.
You have a strange way to show your appreciation of the hard work that the developers have done, to think its always free.
