Rocksmith2014 Break after Update? This should fix it.

Go to the game settings > properties

Choose the Betas tab

In the text field under "Enter beta access code to unlock private betas" copy and paste the text below and hit the check code button

JustInCaseWeNeedIt

Then choose the legacy version which should be a big blue button/link labeled as such.

This will revert the game back to before the most recent update and it should work.

Thanks I'll try this... but this really needs to be fixed. Can't keep going to beta tab every time something doesn't work correctly. Thanks again for the tip.

Thankfully my CDLC worked again after restarting, but annoyingly all my custom mods I made for the game vanished.

Thanks Cata for that link. Going to try that method of disabling auto update from StackExchange to avoid future messes.

a cause is D3DX9_42.dll for CDLC right ?
After update game, you have to rename or move this file(above) in a game-root-foulder, you can launch a game right, but you will freeze a game when you start CDLC songs X)

so We should wait for an Upudate of D3DX9_42.dll on the Custom Forge I think...

just seen that there is an update and got a little suspicious because rocksmith+ and its subscribtion based model...not saying that this bug actually is intentional but you never know what companys do for boosting sales.

Thanks for the fix. It worked. I played Rocksmith+ as a beta tester. It was rubbish. Nothing about it was better than 2014. Def not worth subscribing to. I have 300+ songs on CDLC which I don't want to lose. Hope the Steam and Customs Forge Community can keep 2014 going for the foreseeable future. I have a lot of (paid for) downloaded tracks for 2014 on XBox as well that I want to keep. I too am highly suspicious of this patch - there has been no dev activity on this game on Steam for years so why a patch now. Can it be legal to stop access to a game that people have paid good money for? I think not.

I got it to at least open...
You must click the 'button' that says opt into previous version - holding the previous build for a brief time

1) That is a BUTTON you are supposed to click (who knew??)
2) Once you select it the beta box will populate the drop down with words (previous version - holding the previous build for a brief time)
3) What the heck does this even mean??? Are they put a out fix….or are we all screwed?
