I had a check and although there's a handful of songs in the base game I'd like I don't want them badly enough to pay full price for the game and the import tool.
The DLCs however do have quite a few ones I'd like.
They got what I'm sure was their wish anyway, rather than trying to keep an eye on that while hoping for a sale I went ahead and bought the main ones I cared about, if I had an accountant I'm sure they'd be scowling at me right now.
*With the sole exception of the Xbox 360 marketplace where, due to technical limitations, all Rocksmith (2011) DLC will be delisted at the same time as the full version of Rocksmith (2011) on Oct 17, 2021.
Now I need to buy a guitar!
Thanks for the information, I was aware of it and wasn't concerned as I'm on PC, but maybe some ppl have the game on Xbox and will want to get the DLCs before its too late
I think playing games is cool, but learning something at the same time is the best thing you can do, and that's why I plan on playing with my kids someday, without the need for a subscription like Rocksmith+!
Dont forget you need a separate to buy Real Tone Cable aswell. I guess they will still be available since 2014 version uses the same one.
you can find it on amazon, order it on gameshops and the like. Maybe even second hand.
Or get a boxed version for PS or Xbox, they include the cable and can be cheaper, The cable works on every OS,
Yes there are workarounds, but if you want an easy and good working solution, the cable is the way to go. The others require a bit more pc tech knowledge.
For a kid there are smaller guitars, but even i bought a smaller (7/8) size acoustic guitar later on.
Playing the guitar is extremely fun, but the initial learning curve is steep and can be intimidating (~first 200 hours). Basically, you need to develop muscle memory, and that takes consistent practice, which Rocksmith is very good at providing.
You might want to get a bass guitar too, as that might be a bit easier for some songs and help develop other skills.
Even the potential of opening up the world of music for your five year old is well worth the total investment...good luck with everything!
Then i thought maybe because Steam showed 18 October 2012 instead of 2011.
But also still see the dlc songs of the same date?
They will follow now i take it?
About the DLCs, none of them was removed on Steam for now (don't take my word for it, but that's what Ubi said) and they will all be removed in the following months. You can follow this thread to know exactly when each one will be removed:

BTW the Xbox 360 DLCs were removed at the same time as the game.
