it's normal for windows to automatically reduce the cable's input gain, esp when exclusive control is enabled. you can try unchecking it, and do a calibration with the guitar's volume reduced will make it raise the gain setting. I just manually change it while the game loads.
oh i see, you meant your volume knob? Yeah normally you would want to have that all the way up. Windows will usually default microphone device input gain to 17, so that's what I thought you were talking about.
