I followed the instructions in the link and got the buildt in microphone on my laptop to work, but sadly not my Blue microphone. I tried to disable all outputs on my pc so that my Blue microfone would be the only one active but that did nothing.
Is there anything else i can try?
Thank you for the update. I'm really sorry to hear that the steps didn't help.
Are you able to check if any other mic works by any chance?

It found my internal microphone on my laptop but i doubt it's good enough to get any sound registration since it's rather low quality.
I have tried pluging my Yeti into all my USB ports to see if that would help but sadly nothing changes.
I can verify that my Yeti works fine on any other program and alone when just recording stuff but for what ever reason rocksmith cannot find it :/
It's kind of hard to recommend this game to friends when some of the most popular mics on the market seem to be wholly incompatible with this game. The tracking issues with the true tone is one thing, but the mic feature just flat out refuses to work with many mics.
So "popular" has to be put in perspective...
I know the feature came as an extra in a later update, so it might just be that's part of the problem... The game was initially made just for electric guitar using the cable.
But also since the game is older, newer material might just not work properly, cause it expects different input/output.
I didn't make a research on it, but i can imagine mics not specific enough for the usage... Voice and guitar is still different, and most will be for voice.
I did have problems when using the laptop mic or a simple wired one.
But didn't have problems, while using a cheap brand made for music recording and a bit more expensive brand (behringer) when using my acoustic.
But perhaps you will have the best results when using a electric acoustic (plugged in).
If that's a deciding point, i recommend to wait for and try the newer online (subscription) model which should work with the newest material.
Without to much hassle (but it can still use the cable though).
Yetis have consistently been top 10 selling podcasting microphones for almost half a decade now, and are quite popular in general for computer recording, including with music. That's along the lines of saying "I've never heard of Toyota, so I'm not sure you can say it's a popular car manufacturer." It's not unreasonable to assume that users may be using a high-selling microphone that's already common among PC users.
"newer material might just not work properly,"
This and similar issue has been persisting for years now. People are consistently posting about this issue, and there are posts from others within the last couple days from when I made my original post. I agree that backwards compatibility can't be expected to extend backwards eternally, but this issue has been consistent from the release of the remaster. Newer features can of course be buggy, but the game is old enough that these issues should have been addressed by now.
"I didn't make a research on it, but i can imagine mics not specific enough for the usage... Voice and guitar is still different, and most will be for voice."
This could be a language barrier issue, but are you trying to imply that a $2 dollar store microphone is somehow more suitable for the task of capturing guitar audio than $200 condenser microphone?
"If that's a deciding point, i recommend to wait for and try the newer online (subscription) model"
If there's one thing I love to see a company do, it's refuse to fix an issue in a game that they've sold under multiple editions. That certainly makes me want to buy their next game.
Again, to be clear: overall the game is quite good, but I don't quite appreciate when it claims it has a feature that proves to be inaccessible despite technically meeting the requirements stated by the game. The fact that a basic search shows that this is a persistent issue is quite disheartening and makes it hard to recommend.
I'm not here to sell it.
Just trying to help out with giving options. I'm using it for quite some years with fun and yes, with problems surrounding it.
And mostly it boils down to specific things outside the program that's creating a conflict. Or like windows just doing stupid stuff.
I have seen enough messages here of people having those problems of different kinds over the years. And in that regard i try to help out as a user.....
Maybe the devs made it not that good??
I can imagine also the devs not buying and testing every microphone on the market... When it's sold over the entire world..... Even if is a popular brand.
Yes it's an older game with you might say, some behaviour that's not always to be understood.
The current status of this game is that they stopped working on it, to address all of that in a newer version, instead of apparently difficult patching and stitching an old (archaic?) one.
And we'll I'm not happy with the fact they change to an subscription model. But as it happens, for me the program works without problems.
And yes i tried different situations. And even a external sound interface... Did it take much time to get it running.
Yes.
Do i expect the devs to address that, no. Not in this current one.
I can still recommend it. But accept some limitations.
Or don't use it. Or try the upcoming newer version..
Maybe Treating it as a audio interface rather then a standard mic may help.
The yeti is USB so it can have its own driver which rocksmith just does not see.
From what i can find by default the yeti uses MME as its Driver type. You could try and force it through with RS_asio on the line in but if you use the realtone cable for a second guitar it could causes problems.
Without a the mic to test myself im just throwing ideas at the wall.
We can report that the development team are aware of this issue, and that Rocksmith 2014 does not currently support certain microphones.
Due to technical limitations, a standalone microphone can be detected as a headset / chat microphone if it has output ports, for example a headphone jack. We are looking into this to see how best we can identify microphone which should work (standalone mics) against those which don't (headset mics), however, we do not have an ETA on when this will be resolved.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

1. Download and install VoiceMeeter. You may need to restart your computer after installation.
2. Select your mic in Hardware Input 1 (make sure A is not clicked in that column so it won't output your mic to your speakers. Leave B clicked) and select the speakers you want sound to play out of in A1 Hardware Out.
3. In Windows Sound settings, Manage Audio Devices, make sure "VoiceMeeter Input" is your default playback device and "VoiceMeeter Output" is your default recording device (not the Aux ones).
You can try booting up the game at this point to see if it registers your microphone.
If you notice slow, distorted audio, you may need to turn off "Win32UltraLowLatencyMode" (https://steamcommunity.com/app/221680/discussions/1/3044985412481888233/). If you have this issue, you can open the Rocksmith.ini file (with the game not running) and change the value of Win32UltraLowLatencyMode to equal 0 instead of the default 1.
This worked for me, but your mileage may vary.
Hey luxibbi,
Thank you very much for taking the time to share this workaround with the community, hopefully it does the trick for someone else!
And of course should we receive any updates our end, we'll keep players in the loop here.
