Not that I know of, I haven't changed anything. Just swapped my guitar out without changing anything and it worked perfectly. Also, I can hear my bass playing fine in all of the game menus, it's just when I try to go into a song that it more or less goes mute (no sounds, but still shows sound waves coming out of onscreen speakers in real time).
Edit: just clicked "play emulated bass" and it started registering the sounds but told me my notes are way too low and to make sure I was playing a guitar and not a bass. So if I turn on emulated bass, it at least registers the sound of my instrument.
Thanks, I'll remember that. For this issue, I'm sure that's not it though because my bass works in the menus and through my amp, just not when i get to the tune/song part of Rocksmith.
So, even though you can hear the tones, doesn't necessarily mean that Rocksmith is getting a clear signal.
You might want to recalibrate, and tune from the menu.
possibly try a different USB port, and check the Rocksmith.ini and sound settings. make sure both the game and cable are configured for 1-ch/2-ch 16-bit 48Khz respectively. You want audio enhancements to be OFF, and exclusive mode should be enabled "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" and "give exclusive mode applications priority" should be checked in the cable's properties.
You can muck with the Windows mic gain level a bit. I personally like to set mine to about 70, but note that Rocksmith can and will modify this when you calibrate.
Make sure all pickups are active, meaning set your pickup balance to the center so the are all working. Don't just select one or the other. Try modifying your bass's eq settings. for active instruments, setting the bass eq too high can cause detection problems. try reducing it, set mid (if so equipped) for 50% (usually hits the indent) and treble turned up. (you can adjust them later after you get it detecting)
you should search the forums for any other threads on this issue, and maybe submit a ticket through ubisoft's support site.
And even with CDLC, just tested for the sake of testing........
BUT, I CAN'T get my bass guitar to be recognized anymore......my 6 strings all get recognized and working. But bass is NOT doing ANYTHING.......
It does not have a battery, have checked the wiring (well its only like 8 months old....)
it works on my amplifier....
(btw i tried emulated bass on my 6 strings, and it worked flawlesly)
So whats going on then???
For me, it meant it was a fault in the bass itself, bad wiring. in combinatiion of not much sound giving to the game. But if something like that would happen again, with other guitars, i would restart completely, check the windows sound settings if they are not set to a low setting. And recalibrate the bass/guitar with every change of axe.
Also some have a battery compartment, like for active pickups, when its empty (draining also happens when the cable is plugged in), try a fresh one.
Hope that helps
Hey JoeHein117,
Just checking in on how you're doing following Cataleya22 (ᵔᴥᵔ)'s suggestions?
