I don't know how DLC works with it, i would like to think as sub based all DLC is included but i doubt so.
But, to be able to play rocksmith portably, with the same quality... to be able to use an AMP rather than pc speakers and so on and on... it is innovate imo.
In the subscription model you have no idea if or when a license on a song will expire. Ubisoft could lose licenses on entire listings of songs and one day you just wake up and they are gone. We know this has happened previously with Eric Clapton from the first game, so I would say you should expect it to happen from time to time in the future.
As a player you have no control over it. You own nothing and the trade off seems to be very little to gain.
Unless I'm missing some big picture stuff what reason do players have to switch?
All RS2014 songs were notetracked by a small team of people to ensure accuracy.
RS+ "A large part of the vast song library during the PC Closed Beta will be our AI-generated chord charts"
They also state that "Our Ubisoft notetracking teams will be adding upwards of 50 new authentic arrangements each week during the PC Closed Beta and continue doing so once we're live" So that's good.
We will still have to wait and see how big the library actually is.
They say "By the time we launch we'll have thousands of songs and in the years to come we'll have millions more which span all countries and genres."
It seems like the vast majority of these songs will be AI generated and we really have no idea how good or bad their AI will be at generating charts. They will rely on the community to provide feedback for these charts as well.
How is the app for registering correctly what you're doing? That's my only concern, some say rocksmith occasionally has issues with this but it isnt a big deal at all. I am skeptical RS+ can accurately detect everything without lag.
I'm new to guitar (got it 1 week ago) and bought rocksmith to supplement practice. I don't see rocksmith plus beating the lessons that 2014 has? But, i hope to be at a place to subscribe and take advantage of the music in + when it's ready. I like that i can use my amp and play much easier, that i could practice at work.
I will say note tracking seems to be more responsive. But, that is about the best I can say about it.
If you have any form of color blindness this game in its current iteration will not work for you at all. Period. The highlighted notes are too saturated and when they move by quickly you will be dumbfounded below the d string.
Finding songs you want to play is a pain. I am probably not used to the interface, but I selected a song during the intro but it was nowhere to be found in the menus when selecting songs..
I played a couple songs where the notation was off. I don't know if it was the AI notation or what... but there was the wrong chord or the wrong key several times.
The tuner fakes better accuracy through the ui. Having my guitar ran through my pedal tuner into RT cable it seemed to show 5-10% outside true tune.
Some of these things can be dealt with. But, my biggest problem will be when there are thousands of songs available. The current UI supports a couple hundred songs at best. I'll plug away another 3 hours tomorrow but I don't have hope.
It seems to be what I feared. The company will push songs to the front and make you forget about others that will get delisted.
In its state now it is a no go.
Finding the song you want to play is difficulty. I guess because the song count in the beta is tiny? Why aren't RS2014 dlcs in the beta? Very few old songs are available to compare 2014 to RS+
The lack of any color blind support is going to kill this game. They need to address this ASAP.
Some players will see A string B String G strings as too similar to accurately play them.
My guess they fired the original team and tried to rebuild it from scratch with a bunch of round peg goes in the square hole wankers.
This release needs at least 5 months before its ready.
i know you stated that it was gonna be your last post but
just want to say, it's sub based and you can wake up with an entire listing gone but
you can resign your sub whenever you want
and yes you own nothing but the skills and knowledge you gain is yours to keep
yes constant internet is kinda annoying but otherwise that would be open doors to piracy and would be hard to get all the content on any device
i find the sub prices tho a bit anoying
i find annoying that yearly sub is cheaper than monthly and that prices are not all equal no mather the option you chose
I've been playing the beta quite a bit to try and give it a fair shake. I'll try to more or less address what your saying.
As for the skills and knowledge. You can already get that with RS2014. The catalog is different for sure but there are "alternatives" to fix that. But, I don't need/want to do that.
The constant internet is not kind of annoying, it is really annoying. Ubisoft has had terrible servers forever it seems. In the last few days I have had tons of disconnects forcing me to lose progress. There were 2 days I could not even log in and the client would just sit infinitely at the loading screen.
Each song you want to play has to be fetched from the server when you play it. So you get more loading even before you can get a preview of the song. The preview loads and you still have to wait to push the play button. If you know you want to play the song and just get in the Play button is grayed out until its been fetched. I think they could figure out a way to stream it during tuning or something.
For the sub, I'd be inclined to pay a high price for a lifetime sub ($300-$500), but again we are reliant on UBI's servers. Which, for me at least, don't play well as a live service type of server.
It works for games like FarCry and Anno and stuff which don't require constant connection, but not so great for this kind of stuff.
There are many other issues with the beta so far but I won't get into them, because it's still in beta.
All in all I still find myself going back to 2014 after sessions in RS+, because frankly it's just better right now.
The rest of us will decide for ourselves.
/THREAD.
Not everyone has access to the beta and I'm giving feedback and impressions.
There is a rs14 mod already that allows you to use your amp with a mic.
You can use your own amp and pedals with 2014. Just plug the real cable into your first pedal's bypass. And you're golden.
I use a Boss tuner to do this. But any pedal with a bypass will work fine.
