Help with streaming/recording RS with OBS
Hello !! I just got RS a few days ago and I'm having the time of life.
I felt like streaming it a bit but with the audio exclusivity option, OBS won't capture the sound of neither the game or the instrument and if i turn that off.. the sound of my instruments arrives delayed and unstable.

Any idea on how to play the game properly (without desyncs & sounds issues) and being able to record/stream?! I've seen some guides online but nothing fixed my issue:

Things I ve tried so far :

Set both speaker and mic to 16bit 48000hz (DVD Quality)
Turned off and on Audio Exclusivity from both in game and windows sound properties

Note that i dont own neither a capture card neither a sound card.

I am actually interested in doing the same thing you are (though my internet upload speed in my new place is so bad I did not even bother to try yet :Deer:). I did a bit of steaming during the first lockdown from France, I've got this figured out already. I used Voicemeeter to manage my audio chain before and it has never failed me. If you don't know about it, it's a program that allows you to create virtual outputs and inputs to route audio streams. i.e. you'd have Rocksmith output to a Voicemeeter input, then use that as a source for OBS (and still be able to output your game audio to whatever speaker or audio interface you want for you audio playback). Just keep in mind that this is a virtual audio device, so it'll suck some of your cpu's juice and there might be some slight audio delay. Especially if you daisy-chain too many inputs/outputs together (though there are some workarounds). Voicemeeter can't beat a physical audio interface in terms of latency, but it's very flexible and can be adapted to a lot of use cases. There are plenty of tuts on YT on how to set it up for streaming. If you want I could also give you a crash course over Discord if needs be.

Cheers! \m/

If you want to record and not stream, I got it working last night with Exclusive Mode ON using Dxtory. In my case I only wanted audio as I record the video on my phone, then merge the tracks together, and in that case it's the only way I could find to capture the audio. Bad thing is, it seemingly forces you to capture video as well, so you will need to have more hard drive space. But extracting the audio track from the AVI file was just a matter of right clicking on the AVI from Windows Explorer and choosing Extract Audio Stream.

You just have to choose Stereo Mix as audio source. Zero latency. Tried with onboard Realtek and Real Tone Cable. Will see if there's a way to do it with the audio interface as sound quality is slightly better than RTC.
