Audio is stuttering.
Hi,

As the title says, the audio is very laggy and stuttering when I boot the game, also when I get to the Uplay login I cant type anything, it's as though there is something comanding the selected option to go right to the bottom... hope this makes sense

I had the same (or at least a similar) problem re the audio stuttering - tried to work extensively with tech support to no avail (who mainly just sent me copypastas), very disappointing. I wish I knew how to help.

I got rid of it in the in end by editing the ini file, but tbh, the game was so buggy I returned it. Thanks for hte comment anyway :)

stuttering is a symptom of configuration. Modifying the rocksmith.ini is the correct way to resolve. The program is not buggy, you probably didn't buy the RT cable and tried to use a fancy overpriced interface which the game does not support.

Your loss if you ignorantly returned it because of a perfectly normal configuration need.

First, make sure your computer meets/exceeds Rocksmith's requirements.
Make sure Windows/MacOS and all drivers are up to date.
PCI-E analog output audio is best. USB interfaces are not officially supported, USB speakers/headphones can work, but are far from optimal because of system overhead.
Make sure the output is configured to 16-bit 2channel 48Khz, audio enhancements should be OFF, exclusive mode ON.
Configure the RT cable for 1-ch 16-big 48Khz.

For RS.ini try for the lowest latency buffers and Max output buffer size you can manage without getting any crackling. Try settings of 2 or 4 for latency buffers, and 256 or 512 for max output buffer size. Default of 0 is 1024/1MB max output buffer.
You may get better performance by lowering graphics settings, if your hardware can't handle it. try full screen mode, or windowed as well.

I found a Solution that worked for me. I have a Focusrite was getting shuddering and choppy sound. In PC setting go to audio tools and turn off Audio Exclusivity. Fixed it for me
