Do you need original rocksmith to unlock all DLC's?

Hey. So DLC's here are really expensive and I heard that if you purchase original rocksmith you unlock them all. Is that true?
Also is it worth to buy dlc's if people actually get all the songs from the internet?

You can buy any DLC for original or remastered and they will work with remastered. If you buy original Rocksmith, you also have to buy the disc import tool and you will make the original on disk songs available for remastered.

Keep in mind that you can often get the original RS really cheaply (amazon, green man, etc) boxed or key. The import tool is always $10 but you can get the 50 or so songs for around $20.

If cost for DLC is a big concern, getting RS and the import tool is the biggest bang for your buck song-for-dollar-wise.
