play guitar not useing the game

Ok, O bought the game on ps3 when it was new, I play on and off again, but the set up time to play is quite long, or at least longer then I would like.

Im asking here because many people with the pc version also have the same cable as me, is there any good way to play the guitar on the pc with the cable without the game? there is one method I have seen, but it also is either very limited, or costs 300~$

Anyone able to help? I know getting the game on pc would be an option but really I want to avoid the needless loading times of the game to do what I want.

there is a demo inthe top right corner. Or use the tone designer in the game to play as thJohnnnwton suggests

What exactly is it you're wanting to do though? Do you want to record yourself playing? Do you want to use amp and pedal simulators? Are you looking for other games that use guitar?

Not sure what you consider needless loading times. On PC it takes about 45 seconds to load and then you're off and playing. I usally start the loading before I grab my guitar so I'm getting my guitar, plugging in, etc. while the game loads.

For the most part I just want the pc to work as an amp, playing the game is good, but I would like to practice outside of it, I also have the game on ps3, which loads like crap, and if possible want to avoid paying for the game again

thats what im looking at, the differecen between this and the pro version made me want to see if I can find anything else thats either free or cheaper.

buy yourself a cheapish multi effect pedal, i got a zoom g5n for less than $300 (got it for around $280 brand new on special i think) and it comes with programs to play with on your computer, aswell as record. but if i dont want to do it with the computer (where i can download new amps, and everything else, user created or from the pros)i just use the pedal. best thing i ever bought to keep my learning and playing feeling exciting again, especailly when you get frustrated.
*edited to add you can download fresh new tones whenever you feel like using someone elses instead of making your own (which is really fun even if youre clueless like me)

So again the question is what does the poster want to do? The cable will work with any software.
