[Solved] unable to initialize SteamAPI
As the title suggests, I have a problem when starting the game. It shows a popup saying 'unable to initialize SteamAPI'.

I have tried different things already. Restarting steam, reinstalling steam, reinstalling the game, validating files and restarting the pc.

No results yet, I would love to play the game though. I hope someone can help me ;)

Go to steam settings and clear your browser cookies
If that doesnt work, this might >shut down steam goto >C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam and renname appcache folder to appcache1 then restart steam and it will make a new file.then it should work. This works for many steam game that fail.

No results, any other suggestions on what to try?

One thing, did you try running Steam as Admin.... I have seen some cases where a few files do not get registered and you need to do the first run with running Steam as Admin, and then opening RS.

Are the game and Steam installed on the same hard drive? If not, try installing them on the same hard drive.

I did some searching around on your error rather than focusing on it being a RS issue. There's a few tips on this page so rather than me copy and paste, you should have a look at it. Ignore the ones saying "Reinstall steam" of course, since you've done that.

Page 3 from Oscar is what I found particularly interesting if it would work for you.

Thanks Msyn, I read trough the discussion and found the solution.

Appearently you have to disable 'Auto-containment' in Comodo. So after all it is not a Rocksmith nor a Steam problem.

Thanks to anyone who tried to help me
