Getting the Real Tone cable will provide the best experience and learning opportunities. You then can be sure that the software is working properly, that it is recognizing your guitar correctly, and that note recognition is working correctly. It is the method that will give you the least amount of headaches and all that is left is to improve your guitar playing.
If you still want to use your Amp, then the share from MTZIGG is your best option.
Why do people evade the question? Because many people have tried many ways of working around the Real Tone cable with poor results, and then they complain that the software isn't working when the problems are due to their attempt to work around the requirement. Can be done is different then should be done.
My next step is muti-play and figure out how to give the bass it's own external amp as well. More on that this summer....
