Please help... will pay if necessary
So i downloaded Rocksmith 2014 earlier today and upon trying to start the application it won't seem to launch. The error I get is "unable to initialize graphics system." and after pressing "ok" it tells me "Rocksmith has stopped working" and closes. I've tried flawless widescreen and checked pretty much every discussion on here with no answers.

I suspect it has something to do with my monitor being an ultrawide. or mabe that I'm using dual monitors one of those being a 34" LG ultrawide, the other being a 24" asus.

The rest of my pc specs are as follows.

Windows 10 pro (most updated version)
Intel i7-8700k
16gb vengeance ram
asus prime z370-a motherboard
asus geforce gtx 1060 6gb rox strix graphics card
wd 250gb ssd
wd blue 1tb hd
seagate 1tb firecuda gaming sshd <- the game is installed here

I'm not sure what could be the problem but if ANYONE can help me solve it I would be very grateful. I really don't want to have paid as much as I did for the cable and the game to have it not work on my system.

Thanks

While the game doesn't use widescreen monitors it still works. In the game folder is a file called 'Rocksmith.ini'. There you can set the resolution manually:

ScreenWidth=1920 ScreenHeight=1080 Fullscreen=2

That error message is indicates the your system has problem with graphics card driver. in Windows 10, basic drivers are no problem with playing game, but the can't do full performance.

Check graphic driver is installed, most problem come from driver.

Try disconnecting the ultrawide and run the standard monitor alone to see if that helps.

Obviously this wouldn't solve the issue, but if you can establish a baseline of it working at all then you can move out from there.

not good...When I search on Google, I see a lot of people who are experiencing the same problem. but can't find resolve solution.

try it this. I'm sorry if not work.
  • Right mouse click over rocksmith 2014 -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of games files...
  • Uninstall and reinstall. sometimes game is broken by unknown error.
  • Check other games is running good. if something happen similar error, you think graphic driver has broken.
  • Rollback to lower version Graphic driver or Use Basic Graphic driver provided by Windows 10.

Google Snappy Driver Installer.
Download Lite Version (free).
Install.
When prompted, allow through firewall.
When prompted, select Download Indexes Only.
Click Refresh.
Tick the boxes ''Create Restoration Point'' and ''Restart After Install''.
Tick the box ''Install All''.
Click Install.

Try the game again.

It appers that snappy is just an application that automatically updates your drivers. If thats the case i already use easydriver and im still having the same problems after all my drivers were said to be up to date. If i am incorrect please tell me. Thanks for the advice.

It is, but it's worth a shot. If it doesn't find anything it's just 2 minutes ^^.

Right click the game in Steam, select the last option, go to Local Files, hit Verify Game Files.
Then go to Steam settings, Downloads, Clear Download Cache.
Restart Steam.
In Steam's game's folder (commonapps) find SteamWorks Common Redistributables. Install / repair everything there manually.
Restart PC and try game again.

Have you tried setting full screen to 0. That will bring it up windowed. Sometimes that will let you into set up your settings.
