Well, if you can't pass the tuning then yeah you won't be able to play this game because the software cannot hear your guitar. Trying to bypass this is not a good idea since being able to hear your guitar is a requirement of the software.

You say that you are using Microphone. Just to make sure, this is for an Acoustic guitar, right? That is what Microphone mode is designed for. You need to use standard USB desktop microphone pointed at the soundhole of your guitar. This option will not allow you to hear the guitar through the game as the acoustic guitar provides it's own sound.

If you are attempting to use this as a work around to allow a different cable or interface to work with your electric guitar... Then that is not what it is designed for... You want to go buy the Real Tone cable. It will open all the features of the software, and simply works much better then any other option.

are you using an actual transducer mic with an acoustic guitar? Because that is the only thing Mic mode is designed for and supports. If you, you need to either raise the mic's gain in windows, move the mic closer to the sound hole (tape it into place if you can), or get another mic.

If you are trying to use it with a 3rd party cable and electric guitar...well, that MIGHT work, but it's not supported and no one can help you with that.

Just a quick note... I have a Taylor with the taylor tranducer system in it. I can use the guitar just like an electric by using the RS cable into the guitar. it works perfectly, just have to know I can get play past the 12th fret with much success. LOL

I have no real idea but this sounds pertinent to OP's post.
