Pantera - Walk in the wrong tuning?
Walk is played in D Standard tuning when pantera plays it, but for some reason it shows up as Drop D in Rocksmith

You really have to give the RS crew some big kudos. They have to transcribe by ear, and map to RS. They may have some commercial sheet music available, however they work very hard to acomplish what I consider a somewhat impossible feat. Remember that one of the team have to transcribe Lead, Rythmn, Bass oh and set up the tone stacks for the song. Try that at home!

They are pretty awesome players to commit that kind of time to these songs.
Yes, I too disagree with many of the note charts, however, as johnnewton says: as long as you play the right note it doesn't matter. I really dislike some of the tabs on RS for stuff such as Slayer or the Strokes. But I just play my own frettings that I prefer and the game tracks it just fine. I believe in economy of motion so I tend to move vertically rather than horizontally. If it REALLY bothers you just take out a notebook and record the notes and then create your "own tab" by moving the fingerings around or retuning as you desire.
could be interesting in the next version of rocksmith, or another huge update, to have the ability to move notes up or down the strings or fretboard, as i agree with the moving vertically not horizontaly mentality, and i find myself altering tabs often to accomodate my style of playing.
that being said, it is very ncie to have an 'as accurate as possible' version of the song, complete with the tuning that the band used, but we need to be able to make exceptions and trust in the people making the songs for rocksmith as i;m sure theyre keeping the majority of these things people say in mind.
