Beatles Song Pack Wishlist?
This will probably never happen, but if there was going to be a Beatles song pack, which songs would you want to have on it?

And for the record, Beatles songs only. Don't include any songs from any of the Beatles' solo careers.

My personal picks are:

1. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
2. Helter Skelter
3. You've Got to Hide Your Love Away
4. Come Together
5. Got to Get You Into My Life

Pretty sure this is illegal, but oh well. Daytripper. Ticket to Ride. I Feel Fine. Get Back. Yesterday.

How is this illegal?

Not really illegal, but I don't think they want speculation posts here...... but maybe it applies elsewhere. Maybe that applies to the UBI forums. I cant remember. It seem like a good post though and there are none.

Yeah. I don't remember that being illegal here. Regardless, good choices.

I would imagine the licensing fees associated with the Beatle's music would be very steep - maybe too much to bring the Fab Four to Rocksmith. Does Michael Jackson or his estate still own their music?

I'm not entirely sure about that. I heard Paul McCartney was trying to get it back, but I don't know if he succeeded in doing that.

You may be right. Musopia's Four Chords Guitar Karoke has a Beatles song pack, and I think Justin Sandercoe's version of FCGK has included some Beatles tunes in his app version on Android. But neither versions are the actual tracks. They're facsimiles. So I guess there's hope. I'm kinda with thejohnnewton on this one. I'll take any of them out of their catalogue.

You're right. That one does have a Beatles song pack. Now I wonder how they were able to do that. And it's up for a few years. If they did this illegally, it would have been taken down by now.

So.....who knows? It may be possible after all.

A few days prior to his birthday, McCartney’s rank for knighthood was elevated after twenty years to Companion of Honour for his services to music. Over the weekend, McCartney had yet another success to celebrate — after a long battle dating back decades, the prolific songwriter finally regained the copyright to the Beatles catalog in a private settlement with Sony ATV."

Well, I'll be damned. I didn't know he succeeded in doing it.

And yet they have done it before -- Ubisoft presents Guitar Hits Volume 2, Lennon/McCartney

Featuring: Yesterday, You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, Blackbird, Michelle, Across The Universe, Let It Be, & Norwegian Wood.

With the copyright back, maybe Ubisoft can do it again....

Here is a really cool recent interview with McCartney where he talks about the writing of some of his songs. At 14:07 he talks about "Helter Skelter" being written only to be louder and dirtier than The Who.

I've also heard that Helter Skelter was written in response to critcs (both "professional" and average music listeners) who accused Paul of only writing ballads.
