problems with external sound card (steinberg UR22 mk II)
Hey guys,
i'm playing with an amp and i'm using a steinberg UR22 mk II (USB).
Rocksmith doesn't find my steinberg... it only finds the 'Steam Streaming Microphone'. So i tried to play steinberg over Steam. It works, but the tuner incorrectly translates the notes. My E and A is okay (not great), but my D is a G and i can't get further at this point. I Tuned my guitar before (and yes, i know how to do that). Am trying to solve the problem for 4 hours now.
I also can't hear my guitar in Rocksmith.

I'm thankful for every help!

+1 it says that right on the store page.
I know it might seem rediculus. But it is the best way to use the game. I know i have got things to work with my interfaces but the results were far from just getting the cable . I use it now and have for 7 years and its just as good if not better then forcing the softwaer to do things it was not ment to do.

Amazingly it works best if you use it the way it's intended. Rediculous?

Sure, i understand that they want to sell more stuff.
The cable is just a digital converter, so i thought there might be another way.

Anyway, thanks. Guess i'll have to buy one then.

I really don't think that . I beleive it is so trhey didn't have to try and trouble shoot 1000/s of different PC 's personal set up all that kind of stuff just simplify it so it works with the most basic PC and allow more user's to play

It works with xbox 360, xbox one, ps3, ps4, PC, Mac, and iPad. $30 if you're in the US. Pretty cheap entry for a decent spec interface. Simplifies their support surface as you say MT and allows new players (their main target market) cheap easy entry. I'm still using the same cable from my original 2012 xbox 360 version on my PC and Mac.

Do they make a few dollars off of it? Sure, is that bad thing?

It's the easiest and only supported way to go though some will spend many hours of their own time (I guess they don't value it) to try to get other methods to work almost as well. I value my time.

The biggest issue is in some countries it's hard to find and can cost a lot more.

Some people claim they are fragile. I've yet to break one in six plus years.

Minor issue: they can have issues with USB 3.0 or low power USB ports. It's best to use a powered USB 2.0 port.
