"Looks like I was able to fix this after some more troubleshooting, for some reason in Windows 10 settings under "Microphone privacy settings" that "Allow apps to access your microphone" had been switched to off. Simply toggled this to on, fired up Rocksmith 2014 and was good to go"
Well I tried and didnt seem to work... I checked the device manager and the message changed somewhat. "This device cannot start. (Code 10) {Operation Failed} The requested operation was unsuccessful."
Fk the new free stupid ISO version of rocksmith if you can't fix window ten issues!
Ever since the update my desktop setup which is USB 3.0 / USB 2.0 hub and windows 10 is now coming up with error code 10 in the rocksmith tone cables property.
Here is the defention to error code ten : The Code 10 error is one of several Device Manager error codes. It's generated when Device Manager can't start the hardware device, a situation usually caused by outdated or corrupted drivers. A device may also receive a Code 10 error if a driver generates an error that Device Manager doesn't understand.
Knowing that these tone cables were build before windows ten and usb 3.0 makes me pis-sed off that there is no new USB 3.0 tone cables or an updated tone driver!!!
If you type mmc devmgmt.msc in the run command line you will get the device manager to pop up and if every thing is working nothing will be open. If you have an issue you will see what ever it is open with an exclamation mark which is my Rocksmith USB Guitar Adapter. Go into it's properties by right clicking on it and you will see
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
{Operation Failed}
The requested operation was unsuccessful.
If you unplug the tone cable from the usb port and plug it back it the tone cable with reboot back up and for about 30 seconds it will work fine then it breaks and you get error code 10. I deleted and re installed the tone driver over and over and over and nothing works any more. Thanks for fking up the tone cable with this past updated!
My PC has all 3.0 USB ports, but I do have a external USB dock which are all 2.0 - which dont work either... So, I'm guessing there isnt really a fix to this, as it really requires a new cable that actually works with the new stuff, which Ubisoft wont do?
XHCI hand off mode, disable or not on an all/only USB 3 Board
Ya didn't fix the error 10 code on my PC.. Yes! I should update my motherboard it's an Asus gaming board got it back in 2015. For now I will just keep rocking rocksmith remastered on my laptop running windows 8 with usb 2.0! Phk windows 10 until next major update =(
don't use the USB 3.1 ports, or use a powered USB 2.0 hube if you have no choice, but a USB 2.0 port is preferred.
