Report a translation problem
1. Microphone mode was designed with an acoustic guitar in mind. While notes will be detected, there won't be any playback of your guitar from your computer, so no authentic tones. It's possible to use a microphone with a guitar amp (others here may have suggestions on setup for that), but you may suffer some detection issues--especially if you're running effects.
2. Using Disconnected mode will not track your progress, and you would need to manually set the difficulty of the songs.
I have to say you are right about the investment but you have to take in mind that in my country, or at least where I live, there are no cables and phisical version of the game; so it's the only way to play for me.
