Yes. Do the bass lessons. I'm a novice to the bass but it's fun to play and explore. Don't buy into the nonsense that the bass is easier to play than a guitar. I'll be the first to tell you, it is not.

Yes, you'll be playing the bass notation. The guitar plays the treble notation. They are different in the tabulature.

You should just try the bass path with emulation and try it out. IT's fun. I even bought a real bass to play that side, just becuase I learned more about different parts when playing

I actually think that rocksmith is a better experience on bass.

The bass tableture is accurate to the real songs. There may be variants of octave selection.In example, R U Mine? can be played in on phrasing section, instead of going down the neck; but the notation is correct.

I've been playing the bass since 1999 and I really enjoy this game. I have to say though that one some of the songs with very low bass notes like C# tuning, and some of the faster metal songs that both the PS4 and PC versions struggle to register the lowest notes accurately, or so it feels. This is really my only complaint, other than that its superb.
