Lost ingame profile
Twice missing game profilewith in-game statistics. What is the problem and is there a way to return the profile with in-game statistics?

The game's profile is stored in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[YOUR_STEAM_ID]\221680\ folder by default. Those files can be broken when the game is terminated or crashed while writing into them. Needless to say, it's a good idea to backup this directory frequently.

So this isn't an isolated incident? That is, even if I exit the game via alt+f4 it can break my save? Very fragile save system in this game

The game starts with a warning that says it's better to hold breath while it shows :2014reel: on the screen. A broken profile is not a very common issue, but from time to time, people come here to complain about it.

I have experienced the same problem and found it really frustrating to get all the settings back to how they were. The 3rd day after the first lost profile I had the same problem again after a Windows update.
I've always closed it down while patiently waiting during its shutdown. It is already awkward having to Esc through so many menu's before I can select shut down and even confirm 2 times that I really want to shut down.
If it is so sensitive to losing the profiles and settings, shouldn't Rocksmith be able to automatically create a backup before I start the game? Or separate them over different files?

@D-GeneraThor By my guess, it happens because of the damaged profile. The game tries to handle it somehow but doesn't do it well. If you don't have a backup taken before it happened for the first time, it better to remove the entire profile and let the game recreate it from scratch.

@alexcustos Thanks for the tip, but it didn't work!
The new profile seemed to function 2 times. I made separate backups of the 1st session after deleting the earlier profile-data, after the 2nd time and after the 3rd time. Now I have troubles again, but deleting the last profile and replacing it by any of the earlier backups didn't recover my profile.
Are there more locations than just my 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[YOUR_STEAM_ID]\221680\' where profile data are stored? Can it be related to the fact that I have 2 RS cables (original Rocksmith and Rocksmith 2014)?
Aren't steam updates affecting my profile?

The game can sync profile with the Steam Cloud storage. It can be disabled on the game's Settings page -> Updates tab -> Steam Cloud. And there must be an option to remove the stored profile form the Cloud. I can't tell because I never enabled that feature.

When i put my backup in the userdata folder, it doesn't do anything for me :(
