Rocksmith2014.exe has stopped working
Whenever I start up rocksmith, right after the Ubisoft logo appears, it crashes with a popup saying "rocksmith2014.exe has stopped working." I tried verifying game cache, and it says, " 1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired."
What do I do from here?

P.S. I have a bunch of songs from customeforge, incase that's a link to anything. (The game worked fine when I first installed them a while back. but I haven't loaded up Rocksmith in over 6 months.)

Open dxdiag, look thru your devices in device manager, and remove any with an exclamation or that shouldn't be used, such as extra sound devices, then reboot. This could also come from unnecessary sound application, so remove them if you don't use them. I.E. Disabling Audials Sound Capturing or SoundTaxi, etc... Some have had this issue using dual monitors and resolved it by using one as the primary instead of the other.

Nothing out of the ordinary in dxdiag or device manager. No extra sound apps either, just speaker and microphone (same as it's been for the last 3 years.) I do use two monitors, but once again, have been for the last 3 years. Does it look like I will have to use the dreaded: uninstall/reinstall?

Not necessarily. There can be many causes for this. Here's some threads that may help you find the cause.

You can google "rocksmith2014.exe has stopped working" and find lots more. Hopefully one of the above threads will help you find the issue, but I mention this just in case. Hope this helps you.

I'm loathe to discuss this, but you said you're using CDLC and you haven't played in 6 months. In October, when they first released Remastered (replacing RS2014), everyone using CDLC had to return to their source to update something to get it working again. I don't use them, so I don't know what it was.
