Will not pick up any sound from guitar, can't calibrate
I have done literally everything that the tips and tricks have said and my game will still not register that I am strumming the hell out of my guitar. How do you fix this??

do you have an amp.... does the guitar play though the amp alone?

if no -- problem with the guitar.

if yes - problem with the realtone cable? Hart to figure out from just this.

I just had to order thre 3rd cable since I bought RS2014. They are made very cheaply and you will need to replace them fairly often. The new cable just worked earlier - and after a PC restart - zero sound from guitar. No sound from every USB input in PC. Tried diff. guitars, everything. Dafuq?

Are you using an original rocksmith cable or a 2014 version? On console the original works fine with Rocksmith 2014, but when I tried it with my computer it didn't work. If you are still using the original version cable, try to find a 2014 edition cable at your nearest game store or online.

FIrst off, I have had the same cable since the orginal RS. However they are fragile and I don't plug the cable into my guitar. I use an 1/4 Female-Femalle connector and plug my real guitar cable into the guitar and the RS Cable. My RS Cable has not moved in about 30 Months. It's plugged into the computer and secured so it won't move. Never had a problem.

Do Not Plug the RS cable into your guitar. Get and exstention.

I had the same issue try going into the sound settings in RS and uncheck "allow RS full control of windows audio" this fixed my issue instantly.

What kind of guitar are we talking about here? Make and model, please?

If you're using a microphone -- The game does not like electric guitars/basses with the microphone. The microphone option is really only for acoustic.

If you're using a cable -- Make sure the cable you're using is the official Rocksmith Real Tone Cable, otherwise the game won't pick it up. You could patch it, but the methods are all very confusing and risky. If you have an official Real Tone Cable, it might be broken, as they're quite cheaply made. You can buy a new one at most music stores, GameStops, or online.
