if no -- problem with the guitar.
if yes - problem with the realtone cable? Hart to figure out from just this.
Do Not Plug the RS cable into your guitar. Get and exstention.
My guitar works through an amp for sure
If you're using a cable -- Make sure the cable you're using is the official Rocksmith Real Tone Cable, otherwise the game won't pick it up. You could patch it, but the methods are all very confusing and risky. If you have an official Real Tone Cable, it might be broken, as they're quite cheaply made. You can buy a new one at most music stores, GameStops, or online.
