Audio output stops after a few seconds
I start my game, audio as normal, about 30 seconds later, no audio (not game or guitar). It happens not after a certain screen but time based. I've already verified game cache integrity, no luck. Please help. Also the speakers on the screen (while the audio isnt working) are going crazy and so is the tuner, even though im muting the guitar.

What's your setup? Your audio running through mixer, amp, or just using the RS cable with the pc, (laptop or desktop) and your audio specs?

It's guitar into distorion pedal into rs cable. I use a kraken 7.1 usb headset.

I doubt if it is anything to do with your pedals since you say there is no game audio either. Have you tried to alt out and check you output in the audio settings to make sure it not switching over to another output for whatever reasone?

USB headsets are not ideal for the game, they are not even officially supported.

You should use your built in audio playback device, and plug "normal" headphones into the headphone out jack of your PC/mobo.

First I would suggest to remove the distortion pedal... Not sure if it could be causing the issue, but first step of trouble shooting is remove any items that are not required. And then once you get it working, add it back in to see if it causes issues.

Also, I would suggest to look through your PC and see if you have other things running that are taking up resources. Game updaters, chat apps, browsers.... etc. As an example, I installed a wireless mouse and instead of just installing the drivers, there was a utility for "cool features" that I installed that had a memory leak. It caused RS to drop sound, came back garbled... wierd stuff. Uninstalled that, back to good.

RS does need quite a few resources to run smoothly.

Weird thing is, the game worked fine before with my usb headset. On both of my computer it was fine. Then I had to reinstall windows. Now it just won't work.

Double check your headset is set to stereo, 16 bit, 48 khz.

Also there is an unofficial setup for USB headsets ... just google and you should be able to find it. Maybe you did this before, but need to do it again after your re-install.

I made sure to set it to 16 bit, 48 khz. And I its a kraken 7.1 headset so I have the razer synapse drivers for it.

There is something in the RS Unofficial help here and I believe the UBI forums on USB headphones and some of the things to look at. Give them a quick look.

I tried using regular headphones on it, and now the audio doesn't cut out, but it does get very pixelated and laggy and even changing the audio engine setting hasn't been fixing it.

Check both the help forums. Zig and a few others posted some things about .ini setups that fixed a good number of things. There is probably something there that will help.:2014pick:
