Are there plans for a Mac version?

I'm loving the game so far and I love playing at home, however at work I use a Mac and I'd love to be able to run the game there when I'm bored at nights in the office.

Not right now. But one user reported running it successfully under Whisky. They only replaced python.exe with pythonw.exe to prevent a window popup issue. Besides that no special setup was required.

The thing is I can't install things such as Whisky, I am allowed however to use steam.

I guess I'll just wait in case there ever are plans to do it :)
