Question about Legends
If I play in steam offline mode, can I play legends solo without the PSN account? I'm on PC, I'm not making a PSN to gain access to the other half of the game. If that doesn't work, any other way to remove that or remove the legends dlc in it's entirety? I could use the extra space on my drive if Legends is wholly inaccessible without PSN.

I will claify, I just want to play it solo, I'm not trying to do matchmaking without it.

Ah, damn it, I really hope they remove the requirement going forward, the game is on Steam, a Steam account should really be enough.

Yeah...you can't solo Legends without being online. Though, you could turn off matchmaking before beginning a mission. Take it from the person who's been playing it since it's release (not the PC release).

Ah, I'll try that, thank you

Tell that to Ubisoft, Blizzard, EA and the rest that require full on launchers.

I have, you really shouldn't assume I'm all in support for that, I don't even play Blizzard and EA games my friend. Rather than accusing me of hypocrisy, why don't you take your advice and help fix this problem? You're not gonna do that, are you?

Does that remove the popup asking me to create a PSN account?

Well, it WAS meant for a Playstation-only game. So, I assume you're going to have to make a PSN account if you want to keep your progress. Though, I could just assume that it's similarly the same as Lost Planet 2's GFWL (Games For Windows Live).

Ah, the issue is, I don't have progress to keep, I don't have, nor want a PSN account. I keep hearing people say the PSN account is optional, but it seems pretty mandatory for legends at the moment. I'm trying to get 100% achievements, but I don't want to make a PSN to do it, too many games are locked behind alternative launchers and accounts as is imo

then you are out of luck. you can not play legends without an PSN account. but worry not: it's not tied to your game or steam account and you can just create a throwaway

Mm...well, unless you're signing in to the PS console of said "throwaway" account, I'd say it's a bold move. But I wouldn't do that, considering should you ever have a PS console, and the throwaway account isn't your main account, your progress on the game would just have to restart all over again.
As for the 100% achievement, you're going to have to make a PSN account (or log into your already-made one). Because you wouldn't like it when you lose all that progress if re-installing the game. And don't worry: it's Playstation. Not some random launcher or account from some game company.

the progress is saved on your steam account, not PSN account. If you, at any given time, wanted to get your trophies/achievements on your real PSN account you can just log in into it and you automatically get all of those you already unlocked.

The PSN account doesn't save a single thing and has no progression saved on it.

You do NOT start over if you unlink your PSN account and/or link another one

Which is actually worse, considering all the data breaches on Playstations side and how much data they save of you, which are not even related to their services and are quite private.

Yeah, the data breaches and amount of data they harvest are the main reasons why I don't want to make even a throwaway account, that data is still linked to my steam, and my steam has most of my games on it, that's alot of data
