Tale of iyo

Im in chapter 2 in the tale so does the weekly reset in tale of iyo also reset me to chapter one or i can start at 3 after the reset

What? I don't think it resets you back to Chapter 1. If you completed Chapter 1, and stopped at Chapter 2, you will continue at Chapter 2. The weekly Trials of Iyo is just there for you to get a special reward, and it's more challenging than Tales of Iyo. It won't affect your progress, should you complete it. Though, the weekly one does partake in a certain spot in that chapter. You'll know it when you reach to it during that chapter.

So, simply put: both "No". It won't take you back to Chapter 1, and it won't skip you to Chapter 3.

If you complete it once, you'll get the reward from it. If you complete it again, you'll just get plain rewards like any other else. You can tell by the orange gear reward during the mission completion results.
