Ooo, I'll have to try tweaking the fov. I love this game, but yeah... the camera hugs Jin a bit much. Same general issue in the God of War reboot and Marvel's Spider-Man. Either it's a common stylistic choice among Sony first party titles or it's a common way to save on performance by reducing what's on screen at any given time. :-P
Always makes me miss the Arkham series, which kept the camera close to Batman during exploration but pulled it back quite a lot during combat to boost situational awareness.
Still... hard to complain. I use the alternative Dark Souls control scheme, so I attack with the right shoulder buttons and move the camera with my right thumb. Really helps mitigate the issue.
