Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR'S CUT

Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR'S CUT

Vezi statistici:
Contrast is way too high and other lightning issue.
There seems to be something very wrong with how the game handles lightning.
The contrast between bright parts of the world and ie shadows or shaded areas is way too high.
Where the bright areas look mostly good, the shaded ones are almost entirely black. And don't even make me start on insides of the buildings when looking from the outside.
Same goes for trees, when you look at them from where the sun is shining on them they look normal, but when looking from the shaded side the're almost black.

I'm playing on highest settings in HDR on a QD-OLED monitor, so my screen is definitely not the issue. I've even increased brightness to 60 and it helped, only slightly. If you go higher then that then the brightly lit areas will be too bright.

Other issue is constantly adjusting overall brightness of the scene as you travel, it's very annoying and distracting from overall great game, so far anyway.

Any chance devs will fix this? Was the original game on PS4 the same?

So I finally got into a building where the lighting could be tested, my re-calibrating my HDR settings did jack, also tried turning off HDR and found I could see even less?
if you're using nvidia press alt f3 and add some filters to help with lighting and colour. It goes a longgggg way.

Better than whatever this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ port is
Yeah, I'm using RTX Dynamic Vibrance, my main issue is I actually PREFER games darker then bright, idk it just makes the game looked washed out? So for me and my specific tastes there isn't really a solution I'm a fan off... which is a shame, but I guess I can just make sure I have an explosive arrow on hand at all times and just use them as a torch LOL

there's nothing wrong with that preference, the larger issue is that Tsushima has abysmal lighting, horizon and fallen order really put this game to shame.

Its shadows are washed but too dark at the same time, facing the sun just over exposes everything and your characters back just looks awful. good shadows doesn't mean the game loses colour, not only that but going into any indoor area and looking out towards the exit, its like a supernova went off outside. The game also has a dim tint that towards the green side which is basically what starfield did as well because bethesda got lazy. Had to mod it just to look good

Did that mod actually make the game look better? I remember reading people warning that the game only used that green tint in certain areas, so making a single sweeping change to the colour balance could make other areas look worse as a result

Almost all montinors/TVs are HDR now a days.
And most of them will look like crap with it on. Don't bother with HDR unless the panel you're using is at least HDR600 with FALD.

Which mod was that one again? I assume it's a ReShade preset

if i remember correctly its one of it. But regardless of which preset you'd have to fiddle around with what to turn on or off. Some options are just ridiculous haha

I have set the brightnees to 70, but turned down my max HDR brightness as well as paper white. Best way to set it up is going into a house at daytime look at a dark corner and increase the brightness to your liking then go out and look at a reflective surface and reduce the HDR max until it please your liking. Maybe you want enable the dynamic contrast for darker shadows.
Turn off HDR, get Reshade, turn on curves and levels, vibrance and adjust it, it's not that hard.

Fix everything with built in Nvidia filters, no fps penalty, game looks phenomenal!

if you nvidia customer, do alt+f3 in game menu and use nvdia filter for raise luminance, hdr power, light, shadow etc... ; set up hdr on in game with suggest value 1000/200; this is what i do for improve darkness in game.

Will try this. Thank you.

If you have Windows 11 you can calibrate HDR settings to fix the issue you are describing. You can find the calibration tool in the appstore
