The most important things were Ronin outfit (and upgrade it) which makes a huge difference and higher terrain helps a ton. Last, upgrading your dagger to max (super cheap to do) makes no noise which is a huge deal and the extended vision range.
Upgraded bow (esp with environmental traps like bee hives) and/or chime/firecrackers (esp with 3 person assassinate) also make it super easy.
Gotta say, on the topic of speeding up time. I'm not a fan of the extremely strong golden glaring sun. It looks good, but it is a pain to see clearly.
Yeah for me it's about immersion.
If I encounter enemys I fight them whatever time of the day but stealth approaches are something I'd like to do exclusively at night. Traveling greater distances exclusively by day. Generaly speaking I also like the visuals better by day and would like to do most tasks of my tasks by day.
It would just be a nice QoL for me. No biggy.
