"Unique" aspects of Ghost of Tsushima?
Hey fellow warriors,

I just wanted to pop in here and share a groundbreaking revelation with you all. Have you heard of this indie gem called Ghost of Tsushima? It’s this little-known game where—get this—you play as a samurai! I know, I know, it’s probably the first time any of us have seen a samurai in a video game, right?

Now, brace yourselves for the real shocker: it’s set in Japan! And not just any part of Japan, but Tsushima Island! Mind-blowing, I know. And here I was thinking Tsushima was a fancy new sushi roll at my local Japanese restaurant. Boy, was I wrong!

But wait, there's more. This game actually allows you to ride a horse! Yes, a real horse, across sprawling landscapes. And, if you can believe it, you can swing a sword too. It’s almost as if they’ve combined elements from every major game in the past decade into one. How innovative!

Also, did you know there are missions? And you get to fight people? Groundbreaking stuff. It's like nothing we’ve ever seen before, except maybe in a few dozen other games. But who’s counting, right?

I must also mention the graphics—oh, the graphics! It’s almost as if you’re looking at real trees, real grass, and real water. It’s all so real, you might even forget you’re in your living room and not actually in feudal Japan. Remember to keep snacks nearby; sushi might just enhance the authenticity of your samurai journey!

All jesting aside, folks, it’s actually a fantastic game and I can't recommend it enough. But really, how did they come up with such a unique idea as putting samurais in Japan? Hats off to the creative geniuses!

Let's discuss! What are your favorite "unique" aspects of Ghost of Tsushima? Or, share your favorite sushi roll – either one's good!

Keep swinging those katanas.

The camera being miles away from everyone during conversations is unique for sure!

Absolutely, it gives the whole game a real "spy satellite" vibe. I like to pretend I'm in a high-stakes game of "Where's Waldo?" but instead of Waldo, it's "Where's Jin?" Keeps the game exciting and my eyesight sharp!

graphic aint nothing fancy, for a console its okay but for pc its mediocre.

we been riding horses since assassins creed 1, nothing new neither. and they still cant make a good horse tail.

idc about what new things they bring tbh. real shameful part is so many bugs after so long, still there, in a secondary release. if it was decade ago, some people d lose their jobs, but here we dont even know when there ll be a patch. not punishing incompetent people became a trend in this new era of gaming. where prices raise, quality equally drops

i dont easily get hyped, i was hyped during console release but since i dont like consoles i decided to wait for pc version like a goodboi. Just i did for uncharted4 and FF15 and it finally arrived and my disappointment multiplied. there s nothing unique about this game. it doesnt even reflect the historical era half well what its based on. im gonna go as far as saying "its AC:Japan" at this point, thats about it. but at least those old ACs were something unique back then. this s just a copy.

what a mediocre game, if they think creating a second game, i suggest they start thinking on radical changes , otherwise dont really attempt.

I agree with this. Been playing it through, I'm about 30 hours so far on lethal difficulty, and don't understand why this game is praised so much.

The combat gameplay is mid as hell.
99% of quests are go to location -> investigate tracks -> ambush.
Pacing is TERRIBLE.
Side content is uninteresting Ubisoft tier crap.

It's praised because people who bought a PS5 don't know any better

You jest, but there actually were ZERO serious Samurai RPGs out there until this one.

Ishin and Way of the Samurai are basically parodies. Samurai Warriors is about as historical as 300.

So set in medieval Japan, playing as a Samurai, in a proper RPG is kinda unique.

Other than that, letting the wind and golden bird guiding your way is definitely my personal favorite unique thing in the game.

Lethal difficulty is basically "story mode". All the nuances of combat are gone, replaced with dodge / parry + one-hit kill.

You chose the simplest combat difficulty, so you are not in a position to judge the combat system.

I've been playing in lethal and tested hard. Well I've found lethal much better for a samurai game. One hit kill (well it's more 2-3 for the enemies) make the combat more intense. You can't make mistake (or nearly none) without reloading.
Lumifel May 20, 2024 @ 10:39am
Imo the main story is pretty good, gameplay too, I'm enjoying lethal. Side content is garbage tier. There's even a bird guiding us to garbage content.
CH13F May 20, 2024 @ 10:40am
hard or lethal doesnt matter, combat is fundamentally boring because its too scripted, enemies just spam same thing over and over and over again, no different patterns. every archtype of enemy has two attack types and they executing them in same order.
