Sliding enemies
This is the first time I've played this game and the combat feels, fun, but very far from perfect. Coming from a souls / souls-like player as well. So I have an eye for kinds of things like this. Combat is kinda broken. The reason being is most of the time enemies just outright slide across the ground and cover way more distance than they should. Resulting in them hitting you when they shouldn't. Especially on lethal where every hit counts. The animations obviously do not match the speed they're moving.

I did a quick google search and see many people have also noticed the same thing, So I'm not the only one who noticed this. But the catch was this was from 4 YEARS AGO.

The sliding enemies feels unfair and makes it feel like your death is based on a mechanic that's difficult to judge even if you dodge out of the way. Even if you think you're out of their range, they will magically some how cover ground immediately in their attacks.

Generally I'm enjoying the game for the most part, but this is just such a common occurring problem for me that I just want to avoid the combat all together, which completely defeats the whole purpose of playing it.

It feels like the enemies are playing an Akham game honestly.

Well yeah it's from 4 years ago, all they did was port it to PC and allow you to use higher graphics settings ( which still don't look that great) RDR2 from 2017 looks better still.

tbh, how they fight is more troublesome imo. they just spamming same pattern quickly over and over again. rather than feinting, repositioning or any other possible tactics. its really feels very scripted and repetitive. therefore i started to ignore world events and road patrols.
they dont give much exp towards legend anymore anyway.

sounds like a classic skill issue

don't see how it's a skill issue when Mortul right. if someone dodges an enemy realistically, you dodge the slash but if they slide towards you, pretty dumb

Yeah they slide like crazy like they're on roller skates.

I agree on the RDR2 part, but having it ported to PC would've been the perfect excuse to fix the skating enemies.

I can't really say much since I haven't played enough to really judge it but I can see where you're coming from. It does seem to get repetitive.

Skill issue? I'm not complaining about anything being too hard, I'm talking about how the actual movement of enemies are difficult to dodge and plan to a point where they visually leap distances which looks and feels dumb. Regardless of your skill that won't change. Sounds like a classic troll who doesn't know what they're talking about.

It's almost as if they have some sort of super gap ability where they can just close in on you immediately even right after you've dodged. Without this problem I think combat would be a lot more fun.
