During standoffs the hold button does not work.
Sometimes when I call a standoff it will not allow me to hold the button to pull my sword and other times it will. I did not have this issue on playstation and my buttons do not fail at any other time.

Such a strange bug.. KB/M or controller ?
Default binds or custom ?
Vsync or fps limiter ?

Same about 1/2 the time it doesn't allow me to hold button doesn't matter if I start standoff from mounted unmounted or stealthed.

I've been seeing this mentioned a lot on topics here since I'm getting the same issue. I'm playing on xbox one controller, fps limited to 72 (half my monitor's native refresh), and I have never been able to get it to allow me to do the Hold Heavy attack way of doing the stand off. I saw it recommended to go to the accessibility and change it to Tap instead of hold, and that actually worked immediately... for the 1 tutorial stand off. Then I needed to toggle it off and on again repeatedly to get it to work, and even then it seems like it just really doesn't want to work.

I have also seen mention that 'high' framerates are causing it, I don't know if 72 counts as 'high' for this purpose, but I've seen people say set FPS to lock at 60.

I have a ps4 controller. I played this game a while back on ps4 afterall anyway, so I'll probably try ps4 controller to see if it helps any.

I thought it was my controller acting up, good to know that I'm not the only one experiencing this. I hope they will release a hotfix for this bug.

This happen to me on the first two that I tried, holding the button would not work. I was eventually able to get it to work for those two after a few tries, holding it at different times or just pressing it right before they attacked. But after that every standoff I've done since has worked first try, and I have now done 8 to 10 or so. Not sure what changed but it works fine for me now.

Changing Vsync, FPS, between controller and M+K, and disabling PSN doesn't fully fix this issue.

It's temperamental and all 'fixes' are anecdotal.

We need a patch.

This I've tried all "fixes" and then later doesn't work so it's all just a placebo

I have a ps5 controller with steam input turned off and it still does it.

This is happening to me occasionally. It says "Hold Triangle" which I do and sometimes it just simply won't register that I have it pressed and I have to watch me lose 99% of my health. It's absolutely infuriating.

This seems to have happened to me more often lately. One fix that seemed to work was to go into your menu and out. I could then Hold my Triangle button just fine.

i also have this issue and also had it back on my ps5

You have to press the key AFTER the ennemy is going in battle stance. I don't know if it's the same for PS4/5 but it works 100% like this on PC. Maybe it's a bug ? I don't know, at least it works 100%.

It's a bug

happened to me twice in a row, at this point I may just not use standoff because it works only like half the time
