The port is not good. PlayStation overlay is massively impacting the performance

If you don't care about the multiplayer side of things or the Playstation overlay you can delete or rename the PSPC_SDK folder in %programdata%\Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc\ to get a 30-70% performance boost.

I'm on 1660 Super and before deleting the folder the game ran at around 40fps on high settings. After deleting it the game now runs at around 65fps. This is before even turning FSR3 on.

We must raise awareness of this. The port is not good. Or at least the Playstation overlay is not a good thing.

EDIT: Hmm, maybe I was wrong. I opened task manager and closed all things that were taking up a lot of memory, including multiple Chrome tabs and other background processes. The memory usage went from 40% to down like 25%. Then I started Ghost of Tsushima and my FPS went from 40fps on high settings to 60-70fps, even with PS overlay in place. I guess it was those memory hogging background processes that caused the low frame rate, not PS overlay.

nixxes are the best porting studio out there

What are you talking about? I can now run the game at high settings 60fps because I got rid of the garbage Playstation overlay thing. With FSR3 I can play at very high settings 60+ fps.

Your card came out in like 2019, this game recommends a 2060 Super for 60 fps and for High settings at 1440p a freaking 3070. Yet here you are whining about 'bad ports', having no substantial evidence other than 'trust me bro'.
You don't even list the settings you are using or the other components in your clearly outdated PC.

You can easily test it yourself. My card now runs the game at 60fps on every setting after deleting Playstation overlay.

Also it would seem like you don't understand how hardware works.
The Playstation Overlay literally isn't present on screen 100% of the time. Something that doesn't even displays on your screen won't magically grab GPU ressources.
It sounds to me like you are running an old CPU.

SO, the proof is 'trust me bro' again. I won't be here deleting ♥♥♥♥ from the game folder just because some absolute random running outdated hardware is complaining. I am getting well above 100 FPS already. Why would I even care lmfao.
