I was playing just fine, for several hours as I have been for the last week. I paused on the map screen, went away for 20 minutes or so and then came back. The screen was flickering on the game, so I closed it and the flickering continued when I'd be running apps or even highlighting text. Any change in the screen lighting would show the flickering, so I restarted and as you said, the image of the game's menu was burned into the screen.
It took maybe 45 minutes for the flickering to over time go away, while the screen recovered. Apparently the game's menu has some sort of insane image retention issue that has been reported a few times already. Scary stuff, never ran into that in my life, so I thought I was doomed.
EDIT: Also worth mentioning that I had the FSR frame generation active, I only first tried it yesterday. Highly doubt it's related to that, but Ive seen stranger hardware-murdering bugs in other games already.
This is happening with me as well, I though that my monitor is broken, I bought it 2 weeks ago. Its the game's issue and no solution is there that is working.
It's like the people who say "this game makes my GPU overheat". :D
I would put that in the dirt cheap piece of garbage screen section of faults. And more to the point borrowed the game from a friends account LOL, you mean you pirated it and nearly destroyed your screen because of the defects in the pirated copy, correct ?.
