Game almost destroyed my monitor
The game almost broke my monitor.

I borrowed the game from a friend's account, and there was severe screen flickering in the game. I managed to endure it for about 30-45 minutes. When I finally closed the game, an image of the game menu was burned into my monitor. It was very noticeable. I thought it might be a bug, so I restarted my computer, but I could still see the same image during the Windows loading screen. Thankfully, a burn-in fix video on helped.

This is absolutely insane; how can they release a game like this?

There's absolutely nothing wrong with my computer. I often have games open for extended periods with static image, and my monitor works perfectly. The idea that my monitor just happened to break the moment I launched the game is ridiculous. I'm glad the game doesn't lag for you. It didn't lag for me either, but the flickering issue likely caused the image burn-in for me.
nah that definitely sounds like a your pc issue not the game port

It's not a monitor issue. It happened to me yesterday too.

I was playing just fine, for several hours as I have been for the last week. I paused on the map screen, went away for 20 minutes or so and then came back. The screen was flickering on the game, so I closed it and the flickering continued when I'd be running apps or even highlighting text. Any change in the screen lighting would show the flickering, so I restarted and as you said, the image of the game's menu was burned into the screen.

It took maybe 45 minutes for the flickering to over time go away, while the screen recovered. Apparently the game's menu has some sort of insane image retention issue that has been reported a few times already. Scary stuff, never ran into that in my life, so I thought I was doomed.

EDIT: Also worth mentioning that I had the FSR frame generation active, I only first tried it yesterday. Highly doubt it's related to that, but Ive seen stranger hardware-murdering bugs in other games already.

This is happening with me as well, I though that my monitor is broken, I bought it 2 weeks ago. Its the game's issue and no solution is there that is working.

Same with friend's LED monitor [imgur.com] lol. Got them to try that Youtube video for burn screen and it helped. Glad it isn't permanent

I have the 4K LG and never experienced anything like that. it's a strange one for sure. As I remember you could get a after image on the old green screens, but never heard of that happening on a modern monitor before.

I've never read anything as stupid as this in my entire life.

It's like the people who say "this game makes my GPU overheat". :D

lmao you're confused, and very misinformed. Games don't break monitors.

Whats the video burn fix did you use, man? I just had this issue today unfortunately.

That's a pc issue mate and what the hell kind of monitor was it, a plasma from the 1980's ?, lcd or led screens are nearly impossible to burn in, and if you fixed it that was not burn in, it was a persistant image fault, never ever in my life seen one do that ever.

I would put that in the dirt cheap piece of garbage screen section of faults. And more to the point borrowed the game from a friends account LOL, you mean you pirated it and nearly destroyed your screen because of the defects in the pirated copy, correct ?.

Only flashing this have had dune for me is lighting strikes. Flickering is the sign of either a bad cable, inconsistent refresh or GPU about to crap the bed. Just because your GPU is "new" dies not mean it actually was. Buddy got one from Best buy, damn thing was a return put on the shelves. It burnt out in a month we assumed it was originally used for crypto

Post #9763674 about how someone's computer hardware issues are somehow the fault of a particular video game lol
