Fix the black screen issue already

When you do some actions, like speaking to a person, or honoring a shrine, the screen becomes black, you hear sounds...the only thing you can do is end the task, in task manager.
And no, it is not my hardware that is the problem.

Infinite black loading screen? Is that what you mean? Same issue here. Its 50/50 whether it crashes on startup or the loading screen for me though

Bought it yesterday and it loaded fine. I played for a few minutes then saved. It will no longer load, I'm in Full screen,I tried Win 8 compatibility and frame generation turned off. :-/

Its not on loading screen. You can play for 1 hour, then suddenly it happens.

Same problems here, I'm going to wait until they solve it to continue playing, from what I can tell it's framegeneration, using a 2070 super graphics card, I can't stand having to restart the game.

it happens almost immediately for me tho, i've only just seen the main guy in the first battle get killed and cant seem to get past it

Rtx 2080 super, Either starts up for me and black screen with flashing. Has only started since I upgraded the graphics driver on the Nvidia hub. Played for 14 hours before updating the driver with zero problems and all of a sudden after I did its blackscreening either 9 out of 10 times on startup or half way into a session. I'm just reinstalling it now to see if that works. I'll update when I can.

I just started having this issue after updating my gpu's drivers (4080 Super). I rolled back thinking the new drivers were just borked, but the issue persists now. The only workaround I've found is to use windowed instead of full screen/exclusive full screen.

So, I tried a few things but what worked for me altogether which someone else has stated already is dont run it fullscreen exclusive.

I just run it on normal fullscreen or as the other user said windowed. For some reason the issue is with exclusive fullscreen.

Turning off steam overlay really fixed the issue for me! Thanks, took me 80 minutes of being ingame just to get past tutorial lmao
