You can't really compare. RDR2 goes hard in on the simulation. This does not. Ghost's open world is fine for the type of game it is.

The fact that GoT has no NPC travelling in the open world (between towns) makes it feel dead/empty compared to RDR2

This game doesn't have the polish of RDR2. It's closer to Witcher 3.

Cyberpunk 2077 has the best open world.....I win.

RDR2 has a more detailed world but I prefer GoT exploration and reward system.

Since Arthur is constantly called a "degenerate", I would rather play other open world games.

All Rockstar main characters are not very intelligent or interesting.

It's actually on some of Rockstars posts:" This is America, an idiot can make a fortune" or something along those lines.

For what it is , it's actually an impressive game, I played it with RTX 2060 and I was very impressed by it. I will always remember "train robbery".

It's really personal preference.
Combat and gameplay wise, Obviously Tsushima wins for me.
Artwork wise - Tsushima wins

This is the first open world Japan setting 13th century game where I get to appreciate " artwork" from all angles.

If I had to choose : it's Tsushima without second thought

The comparison is off for me, Samurai vs Cowboy? Gun vs Sword, Apple vs Orange... both are great. Also better open world in what sense? Overall better?

In terms of "living" open world Red Dead and GTA win over every other game hands down, those are the only games i've played that have NPC's who behave in a realistic fashion and have routines and behaviour that other games don't have the time or resources to implement, in Red Dead 2 it feels like you are passing through and engaging in a world that would continue to function without you, most other open world games feel catered toward you, with events being triggered when you talk to someone or pass a certain point, Red Dead has that as well but it feels more organic.

Gameplay? Tsushima wins hand down for me, the one criticism of Red Dead most people agree on is that the gunplay is slow and lacklustre , if they tightened it up, made it faster and didn't constantly put your weapons away when riding your horse it would go a long way.

I'm only 10 hours in on Tsushima and i'm really enjoying unlocking the new moves and upgrades and fighting the Mongol hordes. Red Dead wins on horsey mechanics though.

World design and aesthetics... maybe tied i dunno, i prefer the open world of Tsuhisma though i think, it feels more varied and interesting riding around visually more stimulating than red deads more realistic take, the fields looks and feel more boring riding around in them than when you ride through them in Tsushima.

Graphics? Red Dead would win overall but in some places on Tsushima it looks like a PS4 game, like the beach, the water effects and some other things feel outdated. When you are in the forest in Tsushima and grass and trees are swaying and the fog and lighting are maxed out it looks amazing, but red dead has more consistent graphics.

I'm not sure what my answer is, tied for now i think, i'll let you know my final answer when i finish playing Tsushima.

Best open world, right. Having npcs T pose, and vanish right in front of your eyes is very engaging.

You know i really love the city design and aesthetic in Cyberpunk... but i haven't thought about that game since i finished playing it.

Um... i mean the Mongols killed everyone or drove everyone out from the island, it doesn't make sense to have random NPC's wondering around when they are at war.
