NO Gyro Aiming!
WE WANT MOTION AIMING!!!!! WHY? WHY don't we already have it? What possible reason is there for not adding it?

I always use DS4Windows in exclusive mode - My "shooter" profile is [L2 hold = Gyroscope until released]. Works in all games this way.
1) It's useless
2) If the game actually uses Gyro, you should disable steam input and use the game via USB.

M.Spengler. Yes but then you loose haptic feedback and adaptive triggers
TheBreakfastist May 19, 2024 @ 11:14pm
Well it's not useless when you get gaming mouse like movement speed, and accuracy while aiming all while feeling super comfortable.

Way more practical to physically aim, it makes more sense to physically aim than to operate two sticks. To crab walk with your character from side to side untill the crosshair lines up is just super unrealistic. That is how everyone aims with analog sticks in game. But in reality if you had to aim at something you would just aim and line up the shot. Not crab walk till the crosshair lines up and then take the shot.

Why would you want to tediously fine tune 2 stick to aim in such a 2 dimentional manner, when you can just physically and accurately aim.

In Steam Controller Layout: Set "Gyro" to 'Use camera motion as joystick' and set it to L2

I haven't tried mouse gyro, but if it does work: It's always the better alternative.

Haptic feedback is supported.
I dislike adaptive triggers but you could enable it in DS4Windows.

[quote=Yew Nough. If you want to use steam gyro settings you would have to enable steam input which means you won't have haptic as game developers intended or adaptive triggers

I know you must be trolling. You can not enable haptics or adaptive triggers in DS4 Windows.

DS4 emulates a Dualshock 4 controller. Once you open DS4 your controller will show up as a Playstation 4 controller, do you get that? There are no haptics or adaptive trigger support for a Dualshock 4 controller do you get that?

And because you are running secondary software, alot of the time you don't even get vibration.

So no, there is no way for you to have both gyro aiming and full Dualsense features and layout with Ghost of Tsushima running DS4 Windows.

If there is you definitely not going to reply with 2 sentences vaguely explaining that you can. You better come with the proper instructions and grammar.

I still have haptic and adaptive triggers while using Gyro Aim. You can do this with Steam Input. I thought it wouldn't work but it works for me.

These are the steps to enable it.

1. Go to "Controller Layout" in Steam Overlay or on the games Library Page. (The "Controller Layout" button looks like a controller)

2. Press "Enable Steam Input". So if it just says "Disable Steam Input" in the top right, it is already on.

3. Go to Edit Layout

4. Make sure the "Action Set" tab is set to "In-Game Controls" in the top left of the screen.

5. Go to "Gyro"

6. On the tab that says "Gyro Behavior", change "None" to "Camera Movement as Joystick".

7. Then if you want it to activate only when aiming, press the cogwheel on the same tab.

8. Under the gyro section, there is a part called "Gyro Activation Buttons". Click that button.

9. A small screen should pop up where you can select your desired button for Gyro Aiming to activate. If you have bow aim on L2, then Select the L2 button that is half-colored in. It means "Soft Pull" instead of "Full Pull". I just set it to L2 and it works fine.

10. On the same pop up "window", make sure "Button Behavior" is set to "Hold to Enable Gyro" so that when you let go of the aim button, Gyro aiming stops.

Thanks Mort. This is the closet I can it to work. What a Cinderella story for Steam input. Between DSX and DS4, Steam input made some nice updates I see. Don't know how long it has been this comprehensive.

However. You don't get full haptics like the Developers intended. With Steam Input Disabled and controller plugged in, Notice the footstep vibrations when you sprint. Also notice when you jump and land how much more full the vibration is. I'm sure there are other exhample with the haptics and adaptive triggers in game.

Thank you for giving straight up answers and proper instructions. Really refreshing to see. Have you ever seen someone give a straight answer on Reddit or Steam 😂

Hi from Greece, many thanks! It really DID bother me as i consider gyro aiming being head and shoulders above trying to aim with sticks...
Two very quick questions, from one gyro-aiming lover to another:

Any idea why the other "usual" seetings of gyro aiming in steam input, that is gyro to mouse beta and gyro to joystick beta don't work with this particular game?

How do you cope with gyro's sensitivity issues? It seems to me extremelly slow and all of a sudden it accelerates out of control...

Again, many thanks!
