possible sulotion : turn fsr 3 off and restart the game and see if it works
Edit : Reinstalling the game has worked for me , the white screen appears then a scene start with my uncle's talking about honor
Didnt work out for me
The root cause of this is the game being unable to play a very specific cutscene file, namely
v_t_dfa_micro_flashback.webm
This file is in the following folder location: \steamapps\common\Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR'S CUT\movies\cutscene\
This is a basic webm, meaning anything can play it. First thing to check is make sure you can view the file in Windows Media Player, if you are using the default file.
If you are using modded files ie 2k/4k upscale cutscenes mod, there are some floating around which, even though will play through a media player, are not correctly encoded and will fail to play in game. What matters is that the GAME ENGINE can play it, not you.
If you are using modded files, revert to vanilla first by validating your game install and then try to air assassinate again. If it still fails to play, then something is wrong somewhere on your PC.
At the very least, if you need modded 2k/4k cutscenes, I'm using this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/ghostoftsushima/mods/28 and can at least confirm the 2k 30fps compressed one works without issue. Can't speak for the others... But before you go screwing with mods, confirm at least that the vanilla unmodded files play for you first.
