Game crashed and now the continue option is gone

As specified in the title, my game crashed due to my display port giving up on me randomly and I was left with a black screen and the only solution was to reboot. After the reboot I restarted the game and the continue option was gone. Now I can only keep on playing the story by always going into the load menu and selecting either the last autosave or my manual save. Any possible solutions to this? I'm assuming that NG+ won't exist for me if I should complete the story this way.

Thats the manual/overall save location, maybe remove the latest save from there and try launching it again,

alternatively disable cloud saving and try loading game from the local save files while in game and if it works, save, quit, re-enable cloud saves and carry on, good luck

I have tried both methods (and more) but nothing brought back the continue option. Guess I'll be stuck always loading a save. Can only hope it's a bug on their side that would eventually get patched but I heavily doubt it.

my fix was start a new game

progress to the point where cutscene right after jin is hit by the fiery arrows

exit to main screen

it should say continue now then load up a save from your actual save

save the game in your actual save then exit back to the main screen

press continue and itll load you into your actual save

This did it for me, after playing till you are dropped from your horse and quitting to the menu, the option to continue was back.

(my problem was I integrated another save just because the reasons I can't say on this forum but I have bought the game now..)

BTW ♥♥♥♥ you in same time, That first opening scene made me cry since I didn't know any of the stories about ghost of tsushima. I just downloaded it for trying few hours then would delete it. It's the day 8. Doing nothing but living in it. Left CS2 for it. (I am 33 yo male playing in LETHAL mode. Not missing even one point in map. I have fought with ryuzo over 300+ attempts. I am kinda noob. LETHAL mode is so different than HARD mode. Not harder but timings are so short but more realistic. I am still mastering it. Killed GENERAL TEGÜMA in 68. attempt. Couldn't beat RYUZO had to lower it to HARD mode.)

I am at mid Chapter 2. Taking it slowly. Because there is no other games to fill this if I finish this. I can't take that emptiness feeling. (Happened in Witcher 3 too. I had finished 100% of any quest, any items, any dlc packs. I cried a lot when Geralt sit under the tree at his wineyard with Ciri). I have cried a lot. Ran around the map. And it was the ng+ mode already. Now seeing this ghost of tsushima opening scene (I wasn't knowing who is who also chatting with a friend at discord. How stupid I am. Kotul Han that disrespectful mofo burning that 1 of 18 samurai's. I am crying right now badly. I am gonna kill that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in LETHAL mode. Even if it takes 5000 tries and gonna feel the victory and revenge of 17 samurai's!

I also hating any O'DRISCOLL if I see one I tie him up and do whatever can be done in RDR2 just for ambushing me and hanging me upside down and beating me when I am hurt as Arthur. Tried to kill DUTCH in many ways. But I think Rockstar is saving him for RDR3. Can't wait for it. Sorry I have some emotional problems. It's the way I relax. I can't cry IRL for easily. But when this ♥♥♥♥ happens, yeah that's the way I relax.

p.s: btw I am not a hardcore player. playing hardest mode for first time in a game. I generally start from HARD then lower it. But this is some kind of different experience. if you wanna check my LETHAL FACE-OFF with GENERAL TEGÜME

This worked for me too. Thanks so much for the solution.

My problem wasn't originally caused by a game or system crash, but just a simple power outage that only lasted 1 second (while I was in game) - long enough to cause my computer to go down and then reboot.

Game crash when there was a force update on GOT and forces me to manually load game until I found this 😁
